Free Music Notes for La Vie en Rose [Original Soundtrack]Free Music Review: I Never Met a Well-Mastered Piaf Album I Didn't Like Hit: 5 Stars
The most affecting music on the album are (surprise) by Piaf. Most have been gleaned from "Eternelle Edith Piaf," perhaps the best one-CD collection of Piaf's output in French. The original score, in Section II is quite good and beautifully recorded. The 3rd section, "Original Songs," consists of modern performances of Piaf's output that were too poorly preserved to record in their existing state. My question is: "So why bother?"
I would have preferred either expanded soundtrack excerpts or more Piaf in any language. But it's downright weird that the title cut is reproduced in English. Is the listening audience that averse to French? I doubt it.
In general, a first class album, well-worth buying for fans of popular song, world music and European cabaret. The score would satisfy a discriminating collector, too.
A pity there are virtally no notes whatsoever. And what would that have cost EMI, Hmmmm?
Free Music Review: La Vie en Rose: La Mome Hit: 5 Stars
After seeing the Movie La Vie en Rose, I had to have the sound track. It is wonderful. Every moment of music brings back the visual images of the film. This CD is something that anyone who enjoyed listening to Edith Piaf will treasure. I know I will
Free Music Review: Outstanding Hit: 5 Stars
This is possibly one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard or bought. The Piaf songs are timeless as is Christopher Gunning's score. Extremely powerful and very emotive. Absolutely majestic, like the film.
Free Music Review: La Vie En Rose - DVD Hit: 5 Stars
One of the best movies I've ever seen. The actress who portrays Edith Piaf is unforgettable. Be ready for a good cry when you watch this movie. A classic! I've watched it over and over again. Highly recommended!

Having seen the movie La Vien Rose, I knew I had to get the CD. Both are terrific. If you haven't listened to or seen the movie I suggest you do both. Excellent music/performances. Bill
