Free Music Notes for Lady Sings The Blues (1972 Film)Free Music Review: ONE OF THE GREAT JAZZ ALBUMS OF ALL TIME Hit: 5 Stars
The title of this review says it all. As a soundtrack, as a stand alone album, few artists have ever reached this level of achievement. Miss Ross, barely in her mid 20s, rendered an interpretation of Billie's artistry that both honors it and eclipses it.
Brilliant, heart breaking, celebratory, and reverent.
This is why Berry believed so deeply.
Free Music Review: Diana can sing the blues! Hit: 5 Stars
I am amazed that Diana Ross has not received more credit for this work. The renditions of "The Man I love" and "Good morning heartache" are absolutely wonderful! The film was good but the soundtrack is fabulous! If you are a Billie Holiday or Sarah Vaughn fan, you must have this cd! Diana should be saluted for this enduring work.
