Got this one from an Indian friend of mine- instantly fell in love- no need to see the movie to like the soundtrack, although I would definitely recommend seeing the movie too. The music is very powerful and lovely (most of it, the fourth number, which is some sort of waltz, breaks badly into the middle of enjoyable Bollywood music). Altogether, totally Bollywood style, but different enough to make it "not the same stuff again."Free Music Review: Superb Music

I love this recording. It has the music fused with very good lyrics which would make most people have the tune in their minds. If one has watched this movie as well, nominated for Oscars amongst the top five movies in the international film category as I write this, I am sure you would fall in love with these songs. Ghanan Ghanan is a great song. Very upbeat, uplifting and hopeful. (Danceable)
Mitwa also a great song. (Danceable)
Radha Kaise Na Jale. This one touched me greatly. (Danceable)
O Rey Chhori really nice love song
The others are really good as well but, these are my favorites.
Overall a must have.

Being more than half Hindi and Indian born I grew up hearing stories like this. Not only is the music beautiful, but it's also haunting and addictive. If you love this soundtrack, you really should see the movie, if you have not. And you really should check out the lyrics to songs. Some of them are interesting, and not what you would expect. I loved the movie Lagaan!!!! It started out as a project for literature, and the movie was great! The thing that drew me most to the movie was the great music! Its perfect, differnet vocal, modern and traditional music... I went crazy trying to find the CD, now that I found it, I cant stop listneing to it! Mush have....
