Free Music Review: SHE S WORTH IT
Hit: 5 Stars

the first review is true, lara does it again! She's so great. If you like french singing, if you like italian opera, if you like lara, and if maybe you don't know her, you have to get that cd!

Free Music Review: Powerful singer
Hit: 5 Stars

I love the power of Lara Fabian's voice. The songs on this CD are wonderful and it does not bother me that they are in a foreign language. I like this CD!!

Free Music Review: A fantastic live acoustic recording
Hit: 4 Stars

To be honest this is the first Lara Fabian's album I'm buying. She used to fall in the annoying 'screaming from the top of my lungs' trap in her first recordings. Her latest studio album "Nue" was already showing a step towards more sober interpretations. This live recording is a definitive proof she has matured. She does not feel the need to prove she can sing loud anymore, which permits her to use her (incredible!) technique at the best.

I first heard the guitar/voice delicate new version of "Bambina" on the radio and could not believe it was Lara. The tenderness and melancholy of the lyrics, dedicated to her granmother, are only enlighten by the new arrangements. The entire album follows the same path.

Lara brings new versions (supported by piano, acoustic guitar and strings) of her big hits: "J'y crois encore", "S'en aller", "Je t'aime", "Tout", and "Immortelle". Her beautiful duet with Maurane "Tu es mon autre" is also included. "Si tu m'aimes" and "Parce que tu pars" are presented in a medley.

She throws in a couple of covers. French classic hits: Aznavour "Comme ils disent", Brel "Voir un ami pleurer", Renaud "Mistral gagnant"; the famous "Caruso", Bagdad Café soundtrack "Calling you" and the wonderful medley of "Starmania" musical classics (Le monde est stone, la serveuse automate, les uns contre les autres).

She even sing an aria from La Traviata ("Addio del passato").

Lara proves here she is in full control of her art. She can sing as an opera diva, control her powerful vocals to smooth even the most irritating power ballads: what a difference between the screamed out original version of "Je t'aime" and it's much classier version here... She can play with her voice, permits herself humour. Without losing her powerful presence, Lara Fabian is gaining maturity and wisdom. Emotions are here much more important than performance. I hope she'll remember the lesson for her next studio recording.

Free Music Review: Most expected CD
Hit: 4 Stars

There is not much to comment on Lara's performance--simply the best. Not to mentioned the great performance of Pierre's piano and the string quartet. The live production was a 5 stars one. I would have given the CD the same 5 stars rating if it was splited into two CDs and included all songs performed in the concert. Though you can find almost all in the DVD except "Pas Sans Toi", my favorite. Anyway, it brought back all the good memories since that night I left the Olympia Hall. Lara's fans will pick up this CD without a doubt, especially those who could not make it to the concerts. For those who never heard Lara's voice, or just listened to her English album only, you won't regret to try this singer-songer-writer's passionate perforamnce in French. Don't understand French, no problem. Her voice will touch your heart and you can feel the lyrics. I only know the word "Je t'aime" :-)

In fact I couldn't help but bought the CD & DVD from amazon.fr when it was released in October. Finally it came to Canada at a reasonable price. Good news to Lara's fans in Canada. Let's hope its region 1 version DVD will be released soon. Most fans may like the editing of last live concert DVD more--to see Lara and the audiences interaction rather than the fade out transition between each songs. The stage lighting condition was not good for the camera too, created some washout scenes. The bonus clips of "Bambina" and "Tu es mon autre" is a plus, but again, too bad "Pas Sans Toi" is missing.

Wish someday Lara would include Vancouver, BC in her concert tour. Are there any fans out there?
