Free Music Review: Lara Fabian-Europe's biggest secret
Hit: 5 Stars

To those of you who are fans of good, quality music sung by artists that really are passionate about what their music says, I highly suggest that you purchase the self-titled, first English-release by Lara Fabian. Her first release, "I Will Love Again" became a Top 40 release earlier this year, giving Lara enough exposure for anybody to listen. After hearing this song, I went and purchased the CD, and I was blown away. The strength, passion, and power in Lara's voice was incredible. Though many of her songs on this CD are love ballads, the style in which they are written and performed would make any recording artist drool. "Broken Vow" combines contemporary music with old-time flair, with a dash of old-fashioned romantic heartache to create a serious, passionate ballad that would make any listener drop his jaw. Then there is my favorite, "Givin' Up on You." While this song also is a "heartache" ballad, the vocal power and finesse comes out to melt your heart. Combined with the instrumentation to set the mood, Lara gives her all on this song. Being a fan of non-mainstream music, this CD is a perfect example of what MTV, Top 40 radio, and other mainstream sources are missing by playing their usual assortment of garbage over and again. Lara Fabian is an outstanding artist that after one listen, will melt your heart and soul.

Free Music Review: One of the best CD's I have ever bought!!
Hit: 5 Stars

When I first I will love again, on the radio, I wanted the CD, then I heard love by grace, and I knew Celine Dion was taking time off, but I thought it was her, and so I called a radio station and asked them who sang the song, and they told me Lara Fabian did. So many people think she sounds like Celine, and that is a great thing. To me Celine is one of the greates singers I have ever heard, and so I believe that Lara will have just as much success as her. She has a strong, incredibly beautiful voice, and her songs have such meaning. My favorite songs have to be, I will love again, Love by Grace, and Broken vow. I can see her going very far in the future, and she is one person that I will see she has a new CD and just buy it, I have every Celine CD and sometimes I hear only 2 or 3 songs on the radio, but I love her voice, her lyrics and her songs, and Lara is the same way, she has that voice that just hits you in the right spot and you want her CD's because every song is just the best. Her CD is one of my Fav. and I buy a CD will have a few good songs and not like the rest, but with hers, you enjoy every song and there is no disappointment in her music, so you have to buy this CD, especially if you like Celine, because you will think at times it is her, so hurry and buy it so you can hear her beautiful voice and touching lyrics.

Unlike most who bought the CD, I never liked the song "I Will Love Again" that much (sounds like just another teeny puppy-love song that Jessica Simpson would sing).

Out of pure boredom one Sunday afternoon, I picked up the headsets to Lara's CD at a music store and started listening - and boy was I amazed.

Lara is very close in style and vocal power with Celine (in fact, even the CD cover reminds me of Celine's "Let's Talk About Love" cover), so if you like Celine type of ballads, you'll love this CD. I would also agree with most reviewers on some of the very good things they have to say about Lara.

My only disappointment though is that Lara seems to have pushed her vocie a little bit too much - in a number of songs, her voice sounded a bit scratchy when it hit the high notes. Wonderful as it is now, her performance, I think, could be even better if she'd used 70%-90% of that vocal strength instead of 110%. (Celine used to oversing too - as in "The Power of Love" - but I think she later learnt to not always push herself to the very edge, and she ended up with such great performances as in "My Heart Will Go On" and "That's the Way It Is.")

All in all, a tremendously enjoyable CD (4.5 stars) that you'll listen to again and again and again ...

Free Music Review: LARA FABIAN---VOCAL WONDER
Hit: 5 Stars

I have just discovered Lara Fabian and I am so glad that I did. Prompted to buy her CD by the radio dance hit "I will love again", I ran to the record store. At first I thought I was listening to a Celine wannabe but after another listen I realized that Lara is truly a singer with her own style. Her voice is the seller here, no question about it. The songs are beautiful. They may seem overproduced or predictable at first, but it's necessary to listen to how Lara interprets them...then you will see. Her voice is smooth and smoky when singing delicately but in an instant she can turn it into fire as she climbs the scale. She sings "Andagio" in English and Italian here. This song is the perfect example of Lara as a vocal powerhouse and as a linguist..Hopefully, she'll record a whole CD in Italian as well for the feeling doesn't fade. She has a thing for ballads here but they all deliver...too bad she didn't include more dance songs...she gives them a true fire and refreshing originality with THAT VOICE. She is definitely worthy of worldwide attention. I can't wait to hear more from her. If you love Celine, you'll love Lara...guaranteed. I've also heard Lara's French music and that too is worth investigating. To sum it up, Lara is invigorating. You won't be sorry!

Free Music Review: Voice of an angel
Hit: 5 Stars

Lara Fabian has everything to become an international star.. with her charisma and unbelievably good voice, she's my and probably others' bet for the next "Celine Dion" -like popstar. I first saw Lara on the TV screen at home back in 1988, when she was young and unexperienced.. Her soft, yet so powerful voice is absolutely unparallel... and she really shows us both of two worlds in her CD with her performance. The good thing about this CD is that it can appeal to different age-groups, her up-beat dance hits is more targeted at the younger audience, and her ballads is perhaps more appealing for people in their 20s - 40s. I'm also impressed with the massive 'live' symphony orchestra used in many of her songs... which in my oppinion adds more professionalism and grace to it all. It's also fun knowing how much Lara and Celine have in common. For instance, Lara and Celine both were discovered in Canada, they competed in the same year in the annual Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 which was held in Ireland. Celine represented Switzerland (!) and Lara Luxembourg. Billions of people watch this every year around Europe, and Celine won the contest and Lara Fabian finished in 4th place (out of 25 contestants). Lara's song back then was called "Cuore" and she performed quite nicely.
