Lara's debut album "Lara Fabian" is a wonderful CD that you'll want to have in your music collection. Lara sings very pretty!!! I'm a fan of Lara Fabian,,right now. And I am also another fan of Celine Dion. Both singers.. sing beautifuly! I'm so glad that I searched everywhere in the CD Store that I went to, and with luck I found this CD & I bought it. Free Music Review: Lara, where have you been all these years! Hit: 5 Stars
When I first heard "I Will Love Again" on the radio, I literally had to pull the car over to keep from driving off of the road. That song is one of those songs that just grabs you, smacks you around with a sad yet triumphant aura, and reminds hip-hop, a/c, alternative, soul, jazz, and rock fans thaat there is a common musical ground that affects and entices everyone, regardless of musical taste.Lara's debut album is no different. Lara Fabian cowrote almost every single track on the album (a rarity nowadays), and what a talent. From the top 40 radio classics-to-be "Part Of Me" and "Giving Up On You" to the tear jerker "Broken Vow" to the future club classics "I Am Who I Am" and "Till I Get Over You," the record is simply a classic. Rarely does a record come out that scopes so many of the faces popular music assumes, and does it WELL! It's phenominal- so good in fact, thaat Columbia Records will GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK if you don't think so! Think of it- a money-back guarantee straight from the label itself- have you ever heard of anything like that! Get ready, this thing is gonna blow up. And I'm sure after one listen, you will be right there dancing when it does :)
Free Music Review: Extraordinary, multilingual musician Hit: 5 Stars
Introduced to Lara Fabian by, of all things, a PBS special, I was caught by this beautiful young woman first singing in Portuguese and then tearing my heart out in French. Little did I know she had written most of what she was performing. I was stunned by her versatility and power. So I bought the disc, and what an incredible surprise. "Lara Fabian" is a soaring sampler of this young woman's talents. Comparisons to Dion and Streisand are inevitable, but this woman has more. Many years ago, I'd have a last drink in a Village dive where the then unknown Streisand sang the late shift, after a stripper and stand-up comic. We would remark what an incredible voice, but what a homely babe. But here, we have everything a beautiful, classically trained musician, writing her own music, blessed with a voice that can reach to the heavens or drop to the deepest, huskiest parts of hell. Fabian can sound like the young Steisand, but this young woman's uncanny power, passion, range and discipline suggest much more. Thanks to her Scilian-born mother and Belgium father, this woman's been trained as a musician from the age of eight. Could these parents have guessed at the potential of their child? This is a unique artist. Incredible.
Free Music Review: Woah..who is this? Hit: 5 Stars
So there I was, watching some random VHS recording of some random singer that my sister had recorded off some random PBS program. Watching is not the right word, as I actually couldn't see anything be moving static on the TV. But I was eating lunch at the time, so all I really needed was background music. Oddly enough, this lousy recording had really clear sound, and wow, what sound it was! This female singer (or singing static, really) could sing in English, Spanish, and French. And she could REALLY sing! I was left with the distinct impression that here was someone who was a better and more sincere young singer than current divas like Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. It was rather angonizing then, as her name was never mentioned on the program and I couldn't see who she was! But I did the smart thing - I remembered the title of one of the songs, went to the Internet, and looked up all corresponding artists. 50 of them - ouch. But I was determined and perservered, and voila - Lara Fabian! I went through a lot of trouble to find out who she was, and you can bet I'm going to buy her CD! If you are looking for a new voice in music, try Lara Fabian. You may be as pleasantly surprised as I was!
Free Music Review: ASTONISHING! Hit: 5 Stars
When the first single Adagio came out in Europe, I kept wondering who that vocalist was because she sounded so much like Celine Dion. One day I decided to listen to the cd on a record store and after listening to the very first lines of track 1, I picked it up and bought it. As I listened it through, I was totally amazed by Lara's talent. From the very first time I heard 'I Will Love Again', I knew it'd be a hit on the dance-club charts and it was indeed. Love By Grace is another amazing song and one of her favorites, You Are My Heart is touching and then the rest you have to figure out for yourself. It's just so worth having it. I have been playing it on and on for almost 6 months now only to find out about her French material. Pure is an unbelievable album, but if you have a chace to check Carpe Diem, don't hesitate! The first track 'Puisque c'est l'amour' is a true demonstration of her talent, of the way she can use her voice and reach you. 'Leila' is another example of the diversity that runs in Lara, she mixes rhythms and excites you with every song. She's definitely another DIVA that just exploded in America, but was already en route to conquer the world.
