Free Music Review: Fun, Hilarious and Wonderfully Uplifting

I bought this CD about a year ago and have been meaning to write a review. I have been a huge dog person for over 60 years and always have a house full of rescue dogs, cats and horses. We're active in pet therapy with kids, the elderly, the home and institution bound as well as those who are very ill. Our crew absolutely LOVED the CD and we play it often. Currently we have 11 dogs who dance, wag their tails, woof & howl and generally just have a grand old time to the music. The songs are professionally sung and recorded; contain perfect simple lyrics for children and grandchildren to enjoy (and dogs of course) and a terrific variety to please everyone. We love all the songs.
This isn't for people who own dogs as trophies or "things to have" or who think dogs are like lawn furniture to be put out and taken in when it rains. It's also not for the lazy,sluggish and clueless who feel that dogs should formally listen to a CD alone and figure it out for themselves. You gotta be kiddin'. You're supposed to be smarter than your dog and really should PARTICIPATE with clapping, whistling along, dancing around and playing "happy chase" during Adventure Dog (for example). Play it once or twice a week; especially when the weather is bad, and put it away just like with their toys. Think of it as a wonderful healthy toy where you can share the joy. It's a perfectly delightful way to spend 20 minutes and get some exercise indoors.
For those of you who didn't like it, realize that your dog picks up YOUR energy. YOUR dog is a perfect reflection of YOU. If you stand around dully like an old stick in the mud or examining each song for brilliant lyrics then the dog won't realize that this is supposed to fun, not work. Enjoy this great little CD and have some easy fun with your dogs.

This is a CD of songs for dogs. According to the advertisement on the Internet -- and if we cannot trust advertisements on the Internet, what CAN we trust? -- this CD is, quote, 'the first qualitatively and quantitatively researched musical CD, based upon 200 canine participants' decisions as to what THEY would like to hear in songs!''
You read that correctly: This musical CD has been researched qualitatively AND quantitatively. Just TRY to find another selection of songs for dogs that can make that claim.
We here at the gift guide are not, personally, a dog, but we did listen to several of the songs on this CD, including Squeaky Deaky, in which a man sings about a squeaky toy, which can be heard squeaking rhythmically. ''Squeaky Deaky,'' sings the man. ''I love my squeaky toy! It makes me jump for joy!''
We also listened to You're a Good Dog and My Beautiful Bed. We concluded that, if you had to describe in a single word the kind of music that dogs like, based on this collection of qualitatively and quantitatively researched songs, that word would be: ''bad.''
But this is not about us. This is about what musical gift to give to that special dog on your holiday list. We recommend Ray Charles.

I don't think some of the reviewers actually followed the instructions in this cd. You are supposed to listen WITH your dog for the first few weeks and then they can also enjoy it without you. For the first five times, we listened with our dogs while petting them and playing with them. Now, as soon as they hear it, they wag and are obviously happy. After a few songs, they lie down and are totally relaxed. It's a great tool if you are looking for a way to break through and communicate kindness to a rescued dog. Eli & Marleigh LOVE it when I put the cd in and it is something, albeit a little "corny" that we can experience together. Then when I leave, they feel soothed by it. Nay-sayers are all wrong. This is a great cd and I defy any listener to not smile at least a little bit -- and tap a toe or four!Free Music Review: Songs To Make Dogs Happy

I have had this CD for over a year now. I love it and so does my dog! It is an uplifting, happy and funny CD which made me laugh and smile during the whole time. I play it numerous times, not only for my dog, but for me too. It sings about what dogs like to hear such as; food, toys, I love you from their guardian and many others. I play it so much that I know every word to every song on the CD. My dog always perked up his ears when he heard certain words or noises (such as a squeaky toy or a dog bark)from the CD.I know it made my dog smile on the inside. It has happy songs on it and not hard rock and roll or classical music which can tend to put dogs in a fatigued or depressed mood. I would have to say it is the funniest and happiest CD I own.
Free Music Review: Skeptics mind changed, Dogs Love it!

I was very skeptical when I bought this CD. I played it for my two dogs and their attention went immediatly to the stereo. I have seen other dogs with similar reactions when I play it for them. They put their nose to the speakers or try to "sing" along with it. It amazed me how helpful it has been. My dogs enjoy listening to the CD when I am away at work. It has helped to ease their separation anxiety and reassures them that they are loved. I am not longer skeptical and highly recommend it to other animal "parents". I also highly recommend her book "Ask the Animals" It is very enlighting and full of wonderful stories she has experianced though her gift of animal communication.
