Free Music Notes for Under a Shady TreeFree Music Review: The best!! Hit: 5 Stars
I was tired of cds of kid songs being performed by kids. In the car, the 102 kids songs by a choir of children who think they are God's gift to music all start sounding the same. I saw a commercial for Laurie on TV and wanted to try her out. I am SOOO happy I did. Her voice and musical talents are great. Also, she mixes songs that you already know with songs you've never heard before which is a nice change. But don't worry about some of the songs being new and that maybe you won't take to them.....they'll become your new favorites. You'll forget all about "I've been working on the railroad" and be all about "Buzz buzz buzz"ing!! I highly recommend! The whole family will love it or at least tolerate it (including dad!)
Free Music Review: My son LOVES it! Hit: 5 Stars
My son is 16 months old and was introduced to Laurie Berkner through Noggin. He hears the cartoon marching band play and he runs into the living room to hear her. If she doesn't come on, he cries and hands me the remote to see if I can switch to her. IT saddens me that I can't. At any rate, I asked for this CD from his grandma and she came through for us. The first fit he threw in the car after we got it, I turned on Song in My Tummy and he calmed down and happily jammed in his car seat. Since then, he has come to love many of the other songs on the CD and thankfully, Laurie has made music palatable for ME too. As a matter of fact, I fell asleep humming one to myself last night! She's just fabulous! (So is her band!)
Free Music Review: My daughter loves it - what else matters? Hit: 5 Stars
Any parent with a small child will know my pain. Kids love things that are familiar and repetition. My daughter wants to listen to this CD over and over again. It gets her signing and rocking back and forth in her car seat, so obviously that makes me happy. At the same time, that repetition of music ends up driving a parent nuts as you end up finding yourself humming the melodies of songs (that for the most part make no sense) to yourself when you are alone, or worse, in the presence of others - who ultimately ask you what you are doing and force you to explain the Rhubarb Pie song.
Bottom line is this works for little kids very well and I painfully recommend it.
Free Music Review: Music SHOULD be entertaining...and this is. Hit: 5 Stars
Our household is LOVING this CD. We also bought Victor Vito and really like it, too.
The songs are teaching our 3 and 1 year old daughters so much already, through repetition and rhyming. Very catchy tunes, and if you REALLY want to get hooked on Laurie, watch one of her many videos on display at noggin.com under SHOWS....since we never know when Noggin will be playing her videos, we can log on at any time and our girls can watch and play along with the videos. It's a great break in the day!
We all HIGHLY recommend Laurie's CDs, and can't wait to someday see her in concert! The smiles she puts on our girls' faces are well worth it!
Free Music Review: You can't go wrong with Laurie Hit: 5 Stars
We have three of Laurie's CD's and this one has tons of songs that my kids ADORE!!! The songs encourage movement and imagination and really have good tunes behind them. You can hear hints of Phish, Bob Marley, and Widespread Panic in the style of the music, but the words are all for kids! Her CD's always contain the written lyrics, which is super for learning the songs, and the written comments she makes about each song show that she and the band really put heart and soul into their work.
My kids laugh, dance, and sing to every song and I always get so tickled at their responses-I even dance with them!
Enjoy!!!
