Free Music Review: I'm not sure what it is about Laurie Berkner...but she works!

Laurie Berkner puts out a sound that is like a lot of other kids musicians -- fun, lively, upbeat, simple music, etc. But there is a richness in these works that is quite infectious, and I can't place my finger on exactly what it is that elevates her beyond a lot of the other CDs we have in rotation.
But the proof is in the pudding -- our 2 1/2 year old LOVES the music, its interactivity, its silly noises and its fun sing-along style. And as parents, it's not just "tolerable" on those long rides -- it's fun for us, too, to sing along and join in the fun.

I'd rate this CD even higher if I could. Laurie Berkner is seriously the best children's music singer I've heard. She sings in a way that kids just love, and the parents don't get sick of it!!!! I've found myself listening to the CD in the car and singing along with all the songs while running many errands....not once realizing I was listening to kids music with no kids in the car, LOL. The lyrics are easy to remember, they're funny, and some of them even teach something. I buy this CD for every new parent as a baby shower or just plain baby gift :)Free Music Review: I Think It's Great!

I first became aware of Laurie Berkner's wonderful music through her appearances on Noggin (the Nick-affiliated children's cable station). My two-year old son loves these songs, and I do to. From the silly to the soulful, the folksy to the bluesy, the mundane to the sublime, Ms. Berkner sings about children's issues with wonderful energy and an unflagging musical sense. (Where else can you find an album that renders a contrapuntal treatment of the items in a Thanksgiving dinner menu?) By yourself, in the shower, and in front of your friends. That can be good or bad depending on your company at the time. This is a MUST HAVE for the car, period. It is amazing how important music is to a baby in the car and it is equally as amazing how you can keep your sanity for the low cost of a music CD. Our baby boy started listening to this CD when he was a few weeks old and it still works like a charm (he is now a year and a half). Great gift idea for expecting parents! We have 3 of her CD's all are good, enough said?Free Music Review: What fun for kids and grownups!

Laurie Berkner is great! My four year old and my 21 month old just love the Dinosaur song and love to make up their own motions. The catchy melodies and clever lyrics hold kids' and parents' attention. Her songs are easy to sing and easy for kids to remember. As an early childhood consultant, I highly recommend anything Laurie Berkner does. If you are a very basic guitar player... 5 or 6 chords, you can easily play her music too. Have fun with your kids dancing and singing "Laurie songs", as they are called at my house.
