Free Music Notes for Le Mozart Noir AlbumFree Music Review: Very Pleasant Music Hit: 4 Stars
The Chevalier Joseph Boulogne de Saint-George (December 25, 1745 - June 10, 1799) was an important figure in the Paris musical scene in the second half of the 18th century. He was born in Guadeloupe to Nanon, a former slave, and a white French plantation owner, Georges Bologne de Saint-George. Although his father called himself "de Saint-George", after one of his properties, he was not born into the nobility.
The music, while very melodious and pleasant, lacks the profundity of Mozart or the inventiveness of Haydn; however, I find it more interesting and enjoyable than that of Bach's sons or (arguably) Paisiello, Cimarosa and Boccherini. It doesn't fare well to frequent listening, but is refreshing when one is in the mood for something new.
