Upon the first listen of the new Le Tigre cd, I was hesitant to love it like I had the other albums. I had been anticipating the release since hearing that they were even coming out with a new cd. I would define Le Tigre as being my favorite band. Once I heard the New Kicks single, I was dying to hear the new album. The single alone is such a great example of what Le Tigre is all about (the reason I love the band so much), you don't even need to have any of the members sing.
To many reviewers (from magazines I've read), alot of them were baffled at the idea of someone releasing their first major single to be a song where no band members voice's were even heard. Which just proves that the majority of music reviewers for major magazines are crap. Anyone with any idea of who Le Tigre is or what they stand for, would completely understand their motive behind releasing New Kicks as the first single. They are not famewhores- they are in this to get the message out.
Moving on from that tangent, I think the album is amazing. Every single song is unlike anything I have ever heard from any other band, completely original and passionate- very Le Tigre.
Everyone can sit around and argue about how it sounds nothing like their old albums and how disappointed they are. But Le Tigre's albums will always posess what the majority of bands today lack- total passion and emotion behind every song- plus- YOU CAN DANCE TO IT<333
