Free Music Notes for The Complete Studio RecordingsFree Music Review: Your one-stop Zep shop! Hit: 5 Stars
I got this because after all the years of playing just made my vinyl too noisy to convert to CD, and at around average cost of $9 a CD (it's a 9 album 10 CD set), it would have cost me at least $8-9 per CD plus shipping. The way the CD's are in a sleeve (like the albums were) was kind of neat, and the storage case keeps all the CD packaging in one spot with the booklet. Also that 2 CD's are in each "album" is an innovative packaging idea and it has everything that each LP had as far as artwork goes. I would suggest to any Zep fan that doesn't have a lot of their CD's go this route as it will save you money in the long run. And the re-masters sound great. A few of the bonus tracks on the "CODA" CD are pretty decent, but the fact you can get all their studio stuff new for under $100 I think is awesome!

Slam, bam, boom, this box is IT. If you bought the original CD issues of your favorite Led Zeppelin albums years ago, go sell them and buy this box. Some recordings claim to have been newly remastered yet to my ears, they sound the same as the older issues. Not so with this box - the remastering job is excellent. From the first album to the last, the sound is improved. You can hear deeper into the music and that's important. It's easy to think of Led Zeppelin as basic, gut bucket rock, but that's simply not true. These guys were excellent studio musicians. Page and Jones were both talented arrangers and producers, capable of orchestrating blues and rock as never before and although many have tried, no-one has been able to copy their sound since. This box is the proof.

Led Zeppelin -- Messers Page (producer, studio rat, tasteful axe virtuoso), Plant (siren-wailing diva, front man extrordinaire), Jones (bassist-arranger -- those suite-like song structures are his doing), and Bonham (Thor the thunder-god reincarnated as a drummer, irreplaceable): these four men, in the years 1968-1980, located a place familiar to blues aficionados: a crossroads. But it was a crossroads hitherto unknown. The place they led us to was the intersection of Marrakesch, Salisbury Plain (that's Stonhenge, y'all), and the Mississipi Delta. They took us to the place where the muezzin, the druid, and the bluesman lock horns, and dragged us down every step on their stairway to hell. "When the Levee Breaks" will take you there, as will "Kashmir." This is the stuff...
Free Music Review: The only one you need to buy Hit: 5 Stars
There are very few bands in the world that we can trully declare that has no ugly songs in all their records. Each Led Zep song is a masterpeice for people who love the classic 70's rock. For Led Zeppelin newbies this is the only way to go. This box gives you a digitally remastered complete studio recordings of one of the greatest bands in the world. Imagine you don't have to experience listening to them thru old LP's and cassetes (they sound awfull plus LPs have this irritating hisses). The first cd editions of these records removed the hisses but still sound bad. I am glad now that all Led Zep albums were digitally remastered. The only thing you need to purchase in the future are the live albums. Once you get hold of this complete set your mind will be blown away.
