Free Music Review: More Bang For Your Buck!
Hit: 5 Stars

No serious rock collection would be complete without Led Zeppelin, one of the most innovative, influential, and best-selling rock n' roll bands of all time. This 10-disc set contains everthing but the kitchen sink(i.e.the live set The Song Remains the Same)released from 1969 to 1982-Led Zeppelin I,II,III,ZOSO,Houses Of The Holy,Physical Grafitti,Presence,In Through The Out Door, the posthumous Coda in their original running order-plus the Immigrant Song B-side Hey Hey What Can I Do,two tracks released from the 1990 4-side box set Traveling River Side Blues and the White Summer/Black Mountain Side medley and one from the 1992 2-disc box set Baby Come On Home, all of which are included at the end of the Coda CD.There all packaged in marked 2-disc black book-type sets with the original album's artwork faithfully reproduced inside. Also included is a booklet containing great rare photos of the band and it members(Jimmy Page,Robert Plant,John Paul Jones,John Bonham),a thorough,well-written essay by Cameron Crow, and exhastive information about each album.Since Led Zeppelin were strictly album-oriented,the truest way to here there genius is their individiual albums, not on hit complations or even the two other box sets. And since the individual CDs sell at an artificially high price,it is much better investment to buy The Complete Studio Recordings at this point. It's price seems steep($120),but its pretty cheap considering you're getting ten CDs worth of Led Zeppelin greatness in superb remastered sound. You won't regret it,either.

Free Music Review: Quite Simply, The Best Thing Money Can Buy
Hit: 5 Stars

Led Zeppelin. The mere name automatically conjures up an uproar of praise and respect for this amazing band. And frankly, they deserve every bit of it. Led Zeppelin, in my opinion, are quite simply the greatest band ever. They are absolutely phenomenal. Even if they broke up 26 years ago, they are still as popular and relevant as ever.

After begging my dad to buy me it, I finally have the "Complete Studio Recordings" boxed set. And let me tell you: forget the price. This set is worth every last penny. It is the most comprehensive Zeppelin collection ever, and it belongs in any music collection.

Here is where you'll find every Zeppelin classic ever recorded, including "Whole Lotta Love", "Dazed And Confused", "What Is And What Should Never Be", "The Immigrant Song", "Tangerine", "Black Dog", "Rock And Roll", the timeless "Stairway To Heaven", "The Rain Song", "Over The Hills And Far Away", "D'Yer Mak'er", "Trampled Underfoot" and the greatest song ever made, "Kashmir". And of course, since you get every song they ever did, you hear all of their most underrated material. I also must say that I was a little iffy about the sound quality, but I must say the songs sound great.

I agree with the reviewers who say that the packaging of the cds is bad, and I was disappointed that the liner notes in the booklet were more or less a reprint from the 1990 boxed set, but still, this is overall an amazingly awesome boxed set that belongs in everybody's music collection.

Free Music Review: Can Ya Feel The Whole Lotta Love?

Led Zeppelin were the progenitors of an entirely new approach to hard rock music that continues to influence the work of recording artists to this day. They seamlessly fused a diversity of musical styles into a coherent new sub-genre of rock and roll. Robert Plant's vocals were more than just lyrics with melody - he used his voice as a contributing instrument that augmented Jimmy Page's versatile (and sometimes mind-blowingly complex) guitar riffs. John Bonham's brutal drum onslaught remains legendary to this day. He played the drums like he lived - fast and hard (and he died way too young). John Paul Jones' bass playing was only the tip of the iceberg with regard to his talent and skill. A true multi-instrumentalist, he was also Zeppelin's keyboardist, he played mandolin, ukelele and sitar on some tracks, and the recorder (sounds a little like a flute if you're unfamiliar with it) on Stairway To Heaven.

While I can see what other reviewers are talking about when they make mention of the cardboard sleeves that the cds come in, it doesn't seem that big a problem to me. I make back-up copies of all my cds as soon as they arrive and put the originals away for safe keeping, so sliding them in and out of the sleeves repeatedly isn't going to be a major issue for me.

This is an excellent box set of Zepp's studio recordings. Granted, it would have been nice to have "The Song Remains The Same" included, but even without it, it's a set well worth the money. Highly recommended!

Free Music Review: It doesn't get any better than this!
Hit: 5 Stars

Led Zeppelin's complete studio recordings gathered together in one great box set, with all original artwork, plus a book about the band. Could you possibly ask for more?

Ok, so for Zeppelin fans that have all or most of the albums already this set is pretty much worthless. But, for someone with only two albums or someone who has lost all or most of their Zeppelin albums (me) this set is a godsend. It's almost worthless to review, because the content is well known and speaks for itself.

So then why should you buy this instead of individual albums? If you have just begun to get into the band, have liked a couple albums and want more, this set will save you money, because let's face it, you will end up with all or nearly all of these CD's anyway. The set costs significantly less than buying the albums seperately. With this set you get an interesting booklet about the band, as well as all the albums packaged nicely in a great looking, relatively small box.

The one minor, VERY minor downside to this set is that it doesn't include Zeppelins live album, The Song Remains the Same. Some people may expect this even though the title of the box is Complete STUDIO Recordings, since it was released back around the time of Physical Graffiti. It's a small incovenience that honestly I feel stupid complaining about.

In short, anyone thinking of buying this should. It will be a great investment that you will not ever regret.

Free Music Review: Led Zeppelin In It's Entirely
Hit: 5 Stars

All I have to say is that Led Zeppelin is one of the best rock bands in the world and only one of 2 bands to release a Complete Studio Recordings Box Set (the other was The Doors, who are also a great band). I'm only 15 but I love Led Zeppelin, my dad had old dead vinyl copies of their first 5 albums (LZ 1, LZ 2, LZ 3, The Untitled 4th, and Houses Of The Holy). When I was younger, I would look at the covers and be amazed at the genius of it and wondered what the music sounded like. So in January 1999, my father decided that he wanted to buy all the albums on CD. He found the Complete Studio Recordings Box Set and bought it. That night we went right home and we were skipping around tracks and different CD's and my mind was blown like mashed potatos into a black hole.

It was like somebody released a rabbid pitbull in the speakers. Jimmy Page is a great guitar player. I'm amazed that John Paul Jones is one of few multi-talented musicians (which every band should have). Robert Plant is one hell of a singer, God Bless Him for being such a musical genius. and John Bonham, all I have to say is WOW!! I don't know how he gets such a loud sound when he doesn't hit the drums that hard. I guess he must turn the volume up really high on the drums microphones.

Either Way, there is bound to be something on here for everybody to enjoy. So do yourself a favor and get this boxed set.
