Free Music Notes for The Complete Studio Recordings

Free Music Review: Umm....Simply the best? Greatest musical collection?
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, what in the name of God can I say? The very fact that this is just the 10 Led Zep albums back to back proves that Led Zep music is best left alone. Remasters was great, really great but how can you *choose* from among Led Zep songs? The only group that comes close to Led Zep is Beatles, yes, but if you talk of consistency, rest of the bands are far far away. It is this consistency that warrants this collection. I need *all* the Led Zep songs ever produced to feel *least wanting* (Now I cannot use the word satisfied here). It is a very very... very obvious fact that if there is any "complete studio recording" that anyone can enjoy as much as a single album that he likes best, then it is this. In other words, if there is any such collection that makes sense, then it is this one.

I know that Led Zep fans would read this and other reviews just because they would like to. Not a single person is reading these because s/he is deciding on whether to buy this piece. Either s/he hates Led Zep or loves it down to every song. This piece is must must must... buy for any Led Zep liker. Notwithstanding the explitives, I cannot review anything more objectively than this in my life. True to God...

Free Music Review: A whole lotta Led!
Hit: 5 Stars

How do you solve the problem of which Led Zeppelin albums to buy? Simple--you buy 'em all! Here they are, the ten studio albums of Led Zeppelin's relatively short yet brilliant career. These gems have been preserved in all their original glory--masterfully transferred to CD and in the original format--the way the band intended it to be.

There truly never is a dull moment in this set. Sure, some of the songs are so immortal that they stand out on top (Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, Kashmir), but every bit of Zeppelin's music was good, and worth owning.

I know from personal experience that a work day goes by faster with this set playing in the background (it's about 8 hours long-- how convenient!). I've started this set countless times when I've begun working and scarcely seen the day go by.

The booklet that goes along with this set is also very nice. There is a lot of information and some great pictures in there. It's definitely worthy of the rest of the set.

When I picture a greatest hits collection of Led Zeppelin, this is what comes to my mind. I had the 4-disc collection, but it just wasn't enough. This is the best way to have your Zeppelin--all of it at once.

Free Music Review: Definitive Collection From Thee Definitive Rock Band...
Hit: 5 Stars

The albums speak for themselves. But what really makes this one of the best box sets on the market is the sound quality. Superbly remastered under the supervision of Jimmy Page himself.
The packaging and box design are first rate also. Very high quality. I have had my box for years now and it still looks brand new. For those of us who purchased the original vinyl (in the year they were originally released!) this set is nothing short of a sonic epiphany. What this set brings out is the little nuances and subtleties in the sound & production you never really heard before.
Page & Plant were always in the forefront and this set propels them even further. Personally, what I realized (for the second time around) is the expert musicianship & "teamwork" of John Paul Jones & the late, greatest John Bonham. This is not mp3, iPod, earbud music....this is 200 watt, 12" Cerwin-Vega Woofer rock!
Any Zeppelin fan owes themself this box set. Hey, you can't take the $$$$$ with you! Even if you own some of the individual cds already, trade them in ASAP & upgrade to the Mount Olympus (or should I say Misty Mountain Top) of rock n' roll!! I guarantee you'll be happy you did!

Free Music Review: INCREDIBLE.... I found myself lost in it
Hit: 5 Stars

Words cannot describe this set. THANK YOU everyone who highly recommends this set so I would buy it!!!! it is the best purchase I have ever made... this and the 2DVD set of Led's. I must admit that people will have to get used to the songs that they haven't heard on the radio... Led Zeppelins albums aren't all just hard rock, there are blues riffs, love ballads, and of course killer thunderous drums!!!! when you buy this set don't listen to all the popular songs and leave the rest of the tracks to collect dust, listen to a whole cd over and over, as Plant or Page once said, "it usually takes our listeners a year to catch up to our music" the music is so incredible and the messages are so rampant and drenched in mystery and beauty that it is truly the only way to listen to the set, one CD at a time slowly moving to the next. put led zeppelin 1 on and close your eyes and let the music course through you. More than 30 years later and we're still in awe of this beautiful phenomenon that IS Led Zeppelin!

PS the booklet that comes with the set is a great 30 page read, talking about the bands complete history one album at a time. beautiful pictures also

Free Music Review: Swwweeeeet!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a quality boxed edition. Sumptuous is the best word I can come up with to describe it. The packaging is sturdy, unlike those easily crackable and scuffable jewel cases; it looks great with the album artwork being printed on gorgeous black backgrounds, plus all the original album artwork ;it even has that great sort of new book/record smell; I love that smell! And something about the look and feel of the thing makes me want to listen to every note again, where I was once slightly burnt out on Zep; it's sort of like a Led Zeppelin revival in my mind.

The only way they could have improved this set is if they made the box and the booklets out of some sort of wood, but then they would probably charge upwards of $200 for it. I kind of wish they would've gave each CD its own booklet, but on the other hand it's also cool to have two cds to one booklet, though it necessitates the double disc Physical Graffiti being place out of its normal order (chronologically, it's after Houses of the Holy). Anyway, this thing is so nice, I'm hoping other bands put out their stuff like this.

I hope Jimmy Page issues all the Zep albums in vinyl.
