Free Music Review: Lost and DEFINITELY Found a diamond in the ruff!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok I been hearing a lot about Ledisi over the past few years. I actually had an opportunity to see her perform a few years back at the Neo Soul Explosion concert series in Chicago but was unable to attend. I heard her version of "Luther Vandross "My Sensitivity" and thought she did a decent version of the song. So I was definitely looking forward to checking her out with her latest release.

I was PLEASANTLY surprised. Ledisi vocals are unbelievable. Her range is great and she SCATS!!! How rare to find a young female who does that nowadays with all the "manufactured" artist that gets airplay. It is a shame that she hasn't received more of notariety. She is definitely a songstress. The CD is great from beginning to end..... I am glad that she is on a major label now but I hope they do a BETTER job promoting it.

Free Music Review: Finally....A REAL Singer!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I kept seeing Ledisi's CD on Amazon, thinking it was "just another run of the mill new singer". I decided to give it a try. Buying this CD was the BEST decision I have made. I haven't been this excited about a new artist since Keyshia Cole (Both have actually been out a while). Ledisi is in heavy rotation on my radio. The CD is excellent from beginning to end and you won't get tired of it. The "intro and outro" was really not necessary, but I understood why she put it in. "Joy", the first track, is wonderful, as is "You and Me". But honestly, I could sit here and say that about all of them. So, I will list me favorites:

Joy
Best Friend
In the Morning
Lost and Found
Upside Down
Get to Know You
Think of You

Really, you can't go wrong with this purchase!

Free Music Review: Love Ya Led!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

After buying "Soulsinger" and experiencing LEDISI for the first time in 2003 or 2004, my hubby and I were blessed to see her live at DAR Constitution Hall with Rachelle & Rahsaan. Ledisi is a TRUE Entertainer, with genuine singing skills, talent and a bubbly personality that can't help but make you smile from the heart!!! She had that hall JUMPIN! JUMPIN! I Love you Led and am very happy to see you persevered and made this album! "Lost and Found" is a treat to listen to and I am enjoying it from Intro to Outro! I am not a music critic, I just LOVE music and I can't see anyone who appreciates R & B, NeoSoul or Contemporary Jazz not finding something they like on this album. Keep sharing your blessing with the masses Ledisi, and I will do all I can to help promote a REAL "sanger!" God Bless Music Review: LEDISI the REAL DEAL
Hit: 5 Stars The highlight of 2007 is finally getting a hold of Lost and Found. Like most musicians from NoLeans, Ledisi vocals bring forth this feeling of southern home cooking. There is a sense of maturity but still leans towards a playful live feel. I can't think of any song on this cd that I don't like. Clearly this album is a return to soul music. ENERGETIC! Each of Ledisi cds bring this energy. Lost and Found creates a floetic lyrics filled with emotions backed by her energetic instrument (voice). Producer Rex Rideout continues capturing the artist as though it was placed on a canvas. Lost and Found is equally as good as previous albums if not better. Highlights on the album are Ledisi vocal range, mad ad libs, and live collaborations with some of the hottest musicians (Erroll Cooney, Little John Roberts)

Free Music Review: Best new artist since Anita Baker or Jill Scott
Hit: 5 Stars

Ledisi is one of those rare, true singer artists that don't come along often. Meshell NdegeOcello, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Rahsaan Patterson, Jennifer Holiday, Patti LaBelle to name a few. She's not a singer, she's an icon waiting to be discovered. She's a singer's singer! From the churchouse to the jukejoint, this album is so SMOOTH, I love it. There's some subtly gospel-themed songs, jazzy R&B, etc. And to show that she can still get down in car-thumping style, she has "You and Me," a song so gritty that Angie Stone's got to wish she wrote it! You won't be disappointed with this release at all. Too bad for you if you don't have the two independent albums before this that are also stellar, especally Soulsinger. I'll bet you Amazon has some used copies floating around...Check her out!
