An absolutely outstanding jazz CD. The louder you play it the better it sounds! I had put this on my wish list many years ago after a chance hearing on the radio and was not disappointed at first spin. After a 15 second warm up, Larry & Lee begin trading licks on Crosstown Kids. The mellow Low Steppin' accents the reasons these two are at the top of jazz guitar. Drummer Harvey Mason provides the thump on L.A. Underground and the supporting cast fills with perfection as Larry & Lee romp all around this bouncy number (turn it up!.) Omar Hakim slides in on skins for Closed Door Jam, again everything clicks perfectly. My favorite cut is the Ritenour penned, After The Rain featuring Larry & Lee tripping effortlessly, trading riffs while the support cast adds just enough support to let us know they are there, never once overshadowing the guitar work. Once I put this baby in the player it didn't come out for a long while. Not a bad cut on the whole disc. If you are a Larry Carlton or Lee Ritenour fan, you must have this CD, no question!! If you don't have any music by either one, perhaps this is the one you should start with!!
