Free Music Notes for Legally Blonde (2007 Original Broadway Cast)Free Music Review: Light Hearted, Fun CD- Perfect for Summer! Hit: 5 Stars
When I first heard of this Broadway adaptation of the fantastic Reese Witherspoon favorite, I -like many other Broadway fanatics- was rather skeptical that it would deserve a place on my iPod.
However, gradually, over time, I started to grow fond of the idea, and, after hearing a few songs on Youtube, I pre-ordered the CD on Amazon. Upon recieving it, I immediatley fell in love with the theme of the musical. It is not very thought-provoking, more for fun. Of course, like the movie, it does have the warm fuzzy girl power theme.
Quickly, the songs made it to my most played folder, and I do not regret my time spent listening to them. Upon recieving it in the mail, I had no familairity with the cast, but was pleasantly surprized to find that Laura Bell Bundy was the original stand in for Kristin Chenoweth in the smash Wicked (to which I am also enamored). Such an amazing voice!
This CD is up-beat, great for working out to, or road trips. I especially like 'There! Right there!' The cast is incrediable, and, if you do choose to buy this CD, make sure to listen to the VERY end of Find My Way/ Finale, for the UPS man's song.
No regrets- truly a hot-pink gem!
Free Music Review: Saw the musical on MTV - Fabulous! Hit: 5 Stars
When I was channel surfing last night, I saw that MTV was showing Legally Blonde The Musical. Seeing as how this is one of my favorite movies, I decided to park on MTV and see what it was all about. I thought this musical was fabulous. (I'm a 25 year old gal who loves musicals) The show was insanely up-beat and perky and the music kept up with the pace of the show fabulously. The lyrics can be incredibly silly and at times innane, but that's part of the charm. The songs are very sing-a-longable which is important to me as I would love to belt out these showtunes. This musical is like the movie jacked up on illegal amounts of Redbull. If you didn't like the movie, you will probably hate the musical. However, if you're in the mood for something perky, silly, and fun, this is a perfect musical for you. Please note that there is some sexual references in the musical (as there was in the movie) and there is use of the words "slut" and "whore" (ie girls calling eachother this) so if this type of language offends you or you don't want your child exposed to it, this probably isn't the musical for you.
Free Music Review: A Complete, and totally Enchanting Surprise Hit: 5 Stars
I saw the show on a lark. I had taken my partner and my grandson to New York to see "November" and "Wicked" (which my grandson had never seen) and a friend gave us tickets to this show. I didn't expect much ; didn't care for the film, so I couldn't have more wary of the show, and later have been much happier with what we saw.
I was enchanted, as was my family, and the other shows became beside the point. We had to have the cast recording, and signed up to be notified when it was released.
I love the recording, and we've been listening to it nearly nonstop since it arrived. I love "Blood in the Water, with it's echoes of musicals gone by, and the magnificent "Chip on your Shoulder" is worthy of any show to come out in the last ten years. My favorite is "Take it Like a Man", though, and the performance here is extraordinary.
The best thing you can say for a cast recording is you can see the show in your head when you hear it, and you want to see it again. We'll be back soon, and I anticipate it greatly.
Free Music Review: You would never think a movie turned musical would be so upbeat Hit: 5 Stars
When i heard they were making a musical for the movie Legally Blonde, i thought they were crazy. I didnt think this was going to be worth my time. I love broadway, but just the fact that one of my favorite movies would have musical numbers was insane. When i heard MTV was putting the show on tv, i decided to try it out. I loved it. It wasnt until recently when Mtv was putting on the competition that i really like hearing the music.
All the songs were great. Very good rythem to some of them, and very meaningful. It can feel was Elle Woods is feeling when she sings the songs. The best songs that have you laughing are "Positive" and "Bend and Snap"
This is definitely one musical you should see and buy the soundtrack to. You will be singing the songs even when you are not playing the soundtrack.
Free Music Review: I doubted but was wrong Hit: 5 Stars
I never heard the music, never seen the show on mtv but I saw the movie. It was clever but didnt care for it.
I was however invited to the show. I didnt care for the show at all. I felt bad b/c I'm a girl and hate 'girly' shows. So, I really doubted the show. I felt that I was the one who dragged my date to see the show. Besides that, I sat down and watched it and I was impressed by the music. The show is altered from the movie but the music and the production was well put together. I feel bad that I doubted the show but my date, he knew that I would like it. I'm glad I sat through the show. I do plan to get the cd b/c I honestly enjoyed the music. I hate musicals that have only 2 songs that are good out of the whole cd. Glad this show isnt that way
