Free Music Notes for Lost HorizonsFree Music Review: where do they get these samples? Hit: 5 Stars
This was my first lemon jelly album and i absolutely love it. i'm not a huge fan of any particular music genre, but i adore anything that is soulful as lemon jelly. plain and simple, it's feel good music. they definitely don't take themselves too seriously and how they conjoin these unlikely pieces together is what magnifies it's brilliance. it's consistent and it's fun to do anything to..cleaning, driving or whatever. i definitely recommend this album to anyone with good taste.
Free Music Review: KY was no fluke .. this is even better Hit: 5 Stars
This collection of music hits you much differently than the more effervescent and silly KY. But from the moment you play it through, you are keenly aware of two things: 1) that it sounds great, and 2) that there is a lot more to it than you can digest in one listening. I'm partial to electronica, and I consider Air's Moon Safari to be the best of the genre. Time will tell, but this may be as good. To turn a phrase from the 70s, this album is groovy man. Enjoy.
Free Music Review: Dreamy, Easy, Politically Incorrect... Hit: 5 Stars
From the artwork, you'll see that this group is not about making you feel perfect, but rather to make you feel, period. It brings many textures, a satisfying freshness and a pleasing state of mind; without being an overbearing or boring experience. They're not afraid to take chances musically, but in a way every song makes one feel confortable enough to keep on listening in either hypnosis or awe... All the ducks are swiming in the water, la la la la la la... :)
Free Music Review: Tasty and essential Hit: 5 Stars
"Lost Horizons" is a real treat. Lemon Jelly's downtempo constructions are candied oxygen: the sugar goes straight to your head even before you've fully savored the taste. "Space Walk," "Ramblin' Man" and "Nice Weather for Ducks" are so delightfully eccentric, they could be a genre unto themselves. A must-have for mix-tape enthusiasts, fans of Air and Cornelius and anyone who's ever wondered what ever became of 10CC.
Free Music Review: Stupendous, Amazing, Wonderful...and its good too! Hit: 5 Stars
...And I thought lemonjelly.ky was great, this CD is better. In fact, it is one of the best CDs to come along in the past year. I bought Lost Horizons based on LJ's previous release alone and I am happy that I did. This is a great, great CD. Every track is amazing, the first two tracks blew me away. Its just an incredibly professional mix of strings, horns, percussion and beat tracks that create an awe-inspiring sound. How do they make CDs this good??
