Free Music Notes for Are You Gonna Go My WayFree Music Review: Get your own song Hit: 2 Stars
I think its pretty sad that the riff to "Are You Gonna Go My Way" is actually the same as the end of Jimi Hendrix's 1983 (Electric Ladyland)....while kravitz does have some talent...i think his music could need a little maturing.
Free Music Review: Worst album of 1993 Hit: 1 Stars
Well, first off back in '93 I was a impressionable Freshman in High School and I was in a music store and my Mom points out "Hey, you like that song on the radio(Are you gonna go my way) you want me to buy that album for you?" So I'm like sure so I end up taking it home craking out the first track enjoying my self, then track two starts......I'm thinking okey time to start skipping tracks(thats a bad sign when you have to skip track 2 on a cd) then track three then track four and so on. He goes from Rock to Hippie Mellow stuff to Funk to Reggie I mean what the Hell? I'm sorry to say to Lenny that Kinda dramatic music change only works for Led Zeppelin he just fell flat on his face. The point is I thought this album was going to Rockin' but turned out to be dullist piece of garbage in the annals of Rock history, Jimi Hendrix he ain't. I was basically forcing myself to listen to the album trying to convince myself it wasen't as bad as it was and might I say that it was one of the worst periods of my life. Anyway, back to the music, if you like mellow music this ones for you, but if you like Rockin' stuff like I do stay the hell away from it, just download the title track and maybe track 6 but thats about it.
Free Music Review: Sexy Soul Funk Rock ... by numbers Hit: 1 Stars
That sleazy sex symbol, hepcat, Lenny Kravitz, offers us another piece of his 60s/early 70s fixation. There's a little bit of Lennon, a little bit of Hendrix, and for a little black soul we have Smokey Robinson. Add a smattering of cod reggae and record it all with 'authentic' 60s recording techniques. End result? A dreary copy of the real thing. Most of the LP is riddled with repetitive, lacklustre melodies and predictable, cliched lyrics about Lurv. Only two songs stay clear of the dross, the inventive, subliminal 'Believe', which sounds as if was recorded in some kind of underwater echo chamber, and 'Sister', where Len really connects emotionally. Still, the LP sold by bucketloads. The Question is though, if you can fall for chains of silver, why not go for gold?
