Free Music Review: So you think you know Lenny Kravitz?
Hit: 5 Stars

Finding Amazon customer reviews helpful in the past I decided to read a few opinions on Lenny Kravitz's latest record. How confusing; so many mixed reviews, and the bad ones had me really wondering if it would be worth my hard earned money to go out and purchase this latest record. Finally, I decided to just go out and get it. I was not disappointed. If you truly love Lenny Kravitz, you will understand it. Where many listeners may view him as a whining rock star, he is far from that. You try being talented and famous and see what happens to you. Lenny Kravitz appears to be a very strong individual who refuses to let fame destroy his roots, nor his soul. Some rock stars shoot themselves, overdose, compromise to the world. Not Lenny Kravitz. He simply chooses to speak what's on his mind. In my opinion, it's an awesome record. A must if you understand this extremely talented artist.

Free Music Review: The Minister Of Rock, Funk & Soul
Hit: 5 Stars

Lenny's underrated as an artist and this is a masterpiece of songwriting, soul power, rock and roll, funky jams and soul baring emotion. Language is limited for reviewing great albums like this. Either you can connect with Lenny's music, or it's not your thing at all. Not every single tune is a gem (but most are) but the good ones are brilliant, concise, shining diamonds. Combining his obvious (so what?) influences of Sly Stone, Arthur Lee, Stevie Wonder, Led Zep, Kiss and The Stones with his own natural, inspired voice, tight musical chops, melodic flair, "Baptism" is classic Lenny all the way. Forget the critics and their "retro" label they give him, this album is a lesson on how to write good, memorable songs. Also, there's a great raw (Gibson Flying V) guitar tone on many of the up-tempo songs, that is great to hear. Lenny rocks- so get baptized already.

Free Music Review: A Very Solid Return to Form
Hit: 5 Stars

Let's face it; '02's "Lenny" was almost unlistenable. With the exception of "Dig In" and maybe one or two others, the album was almost a parody and a big let down from the expectations set by "5". Thankfully, for Lenny and his fans, "Baptism" is a solid return to form with 4 excellent songs that serve to remind us of why Lenny is Lenny. "Sistamamalover" is easily the best groove since "Always on the Run". "Lady" and "California" are great pop rock songs with insanely catchy hooks. "Where are we Runnin'?" is also a tier-A song, if a little repetitive. I was surprised to see a cumulative Amazon rating of only 3, which makes me wonder if people are listening to the same CD I'm listening to. Seriously, this is a great album.

Free Music Review: Even mediocre Lenny is head and shoulders above...
Hit: 5 Stars

...most of his contemporaries.

Lenny uses a nice economy of sound and does not overdo it. He definitely has a formula for his music. But if it ain't broke, don't fix.

This is an album that you can just hit shuffle and sit back and enjoy. There really are no weak tracks on this album.

One thing I always loved about Lenny is his ability to make more with less. He doesn't blow his load everywhere although there was plenty of room to do so. I also love his creative knack for brilliant and melodic harmonies.

Overall I would put it on par with "5", although he doesn't have a song that rivals "Fly away". I would put it ahead of LENNY, and a step and a 1/2 behind ARE YOU GONNA GO MY WAY which is in my opinion his best album.

Free Music Review: What are you talking about!??
Hit: 5 Stars

This album by far is my favorite! I guess kids into pop aren't the people to start listening to rock all of the sudden. I would also like to add that you should NOT buy this album by liking just one song. Before I bought this album, or any other album, I go to this website to listen to the samples. If I like, I buy it!
Lenny has been one of my favorite singers for years, but there are a couple ups & downs in this album! The ups deffinately were the songs "Lady","Where are we Running?","storm","minister of rock and roll","flash" and a few others.
The downs were "what did I do with my life?", "destiny" and a couple others.
Other than that, this album was a great buy!!
