Free Music Review: For anyone who's sick of today's bubblegum...
Hit: 5 Stars

...Britney Spears/boyband crap, take yourself 'way' back to the 90s, when rock wasn't formulaic and just downright annoying. It seemed strange to me when I'd heard that Lenny Kravitz had a greatest hits CD; it seems like he's always been around (since my junior high days at least, and I'm three years out of college), but it didn't seem like he really had much out there until I listened to the CD and heard "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over," "Let Love Rule," and even the less-heard "Cab Driver" and realized that he's been pretty prolific.

The album is a good mix of funk and classic rock, with some pretty good ballads thrown in--kind of like Jimmy Hendrix, Al Green, and the Beatles had a baby together. I recommend it for anyone who came of age during the mid to late 90s especially. I hope Kravitz sticks around awhile longer.

Free Music Review: Absolutely Brilliant
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD would have to be one of the best investments that i have made as far as music goes. Lenny Kravitz, unfortunately is so under-rated, that he doesn't get the acalades in which he most deserves. He has written most of his material, and is talented enough to play the majority of the instruments, aswell as provide the vocals. The CD starts with the Rock classic 'Are you gonna go my way', and is followed by other brilliant tracks such as 'Rock and roll is dead', 'Always on the run', 'Fly Away', along with the 70's feel of 'It ain't over til its over'. The CD also features the song which infact could be named as his anthem 'Let Love Rule'. It has been said that it is hard to fit Lenny into any specific genre of music, however i disagree with this - his music belongs in the category of all time classics.

Free Music Review: Lenny is the Greatest!
Hit: 5 Stars

When Lenny first hit the music scene in 1989 with Let Love Rule, he almost sounded like Elvis Costello and The Beatles with soul. By the time his second CD came around, he found himself a huge top 40 hit It Ain't Over Til It's Over and people comparing him to the trendy self-absorbed Terance Trent-Darby. Lenny came back with hits like Believe and Can't Get You Off My Mind. It wasn't until Lenny released 5 in 1998 that his career would soar and Fly Away! He cemented a place in rock music as well as on top of the charts. He then recorded a remake of the Guess Who hit American Woman. All of this and more is what makes this package more than just another Greatest Hits CD. It's a great retrospect of an Arist who will be around and has yet to reach his peak. The new song is Again and it is Hot!

Free Music Review: Musical Chameleon
Hit: 5 Stars

Lenny Kravitz has often been accused of being completely derivative, creating no original sounds of his own. To this point, one really can't argue. But that being said, what's wrong with being derivative. Sure Mr. Kravitz can cop a Beatlesque harmony or Hendrix riff, but he does them with such conviction and pureness. He can change styles from the straight rock of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" to the Philly soul sound of "It Ain't Over Till It's Over" to hippie-rock of "Let Love Rule" to funk-rock of "Always On The Run". His songs have some infectious riffs that stick in your head for days. Lenny Kravitz may not be the most original artist to come along, but he is a complete craftsman who in the end makes some damn good music.

Free Music Review: Best Buy To Start Your Lenny Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

If you are a new fan of Lenny Kravitz, this is the perfect album to start you collection with. Here you have the rockin' sounds of "Fly Away","Are You Gonna Go My Way", "American Woman", along with the ballads "Again", "I Belong To You", "It Aint Over til It's Over", and "Stand By My Woman". "Let Love Rule" is one of his best known songs and it has a Beatlesesque "All You Need Is Love" 60's optimistic sound to it. If you own "5" before it was re-released, you can buy this disc and get "American Woman". The album is what a Greatest Hits is suppossed to be it has all the hits that they fans want, and it will help new fans become acquainted with his music
