Free Music Notes for Leonard Cohen: I'm Your ManFree Music Review: Transporting Hit: 5 StarsI saw the video of "I'm Your Man" which is half-documentary and half concert film, was blown away and immediately ordered the CD. While it's true that some of the singing is, shall we say, weird, most of it is just wonderful. That Cohen's poetry is celestial is indisputable, and it's nice that these young folks like it, too. A particular treat was Teddy Thompson's rendition of "Tonight Will Be Fine." Cohen's lyrics just kill.
Free Music Review: "Top of the Heap" Hit: 5 StarsLeonard Cohen is always outstanding, but this particular CD is over the top. I can't say enough good about it. I have played it so much I have practically worn it out.Leonard just keeps getting better and better.
Free Music Review: Leonard Cohen: I am your man Hit: 1 StarsIt is bad! As much as I like "10 new songs", this one disappointed me a lot.
Free Music Review: Cohen is our man... again! Hit: 5 StarsExcellent choice of artists to reinterpret and reinvent Leonard Cohen's tunes and classic lyrics. Martha Wainwright's, The Handsome Family's and Nick Cave's interpretations stand out --made me go back to my Nick Cave collection and look for his own interpretation of Tower of Song. Even those who might be a bit tired of Cohen's original mesmerizing, yet at times monotonous, vocals will really appreciate this collection. I look forward for more like this.
Free Music Review: Leonard Cohen - a wizard in his art Hit: 5 Starsthe soundtrack is absolutely fantastic and, whether a fan of the Man or not, this CD should be purchased by all who have an interest in the diverse number of stars who complimented Him. In this way, they can see the type of diverse mastery they, too, hold in this musical world. I also attended the Came So Far For Beauuty concert in Dublin and was blown away by the artists present and their delivery of three and three quarter hours of music.
