I came to the music of Leonard Cohen rather late in life and have no regrets. I feel his poetry and music deeply moving and enjoy his rich sonorous voice. My favourites from the two discs are I'm Your Man,Every body Knows and Dance Me To The End Of Love. I heard another version of Dance Me To The End Of Love while on holidays at La Maine , Cubjac, France and it remains one of my favourite romantic songs as it brings back such happy memories.Free Music Review: magnificent songwriter

I won't be able to explain Leonard Cohen the way he can explain himself. His words lay out a wonderful,descriptive picture that you just have to hear to believe. I just recently started listening to him after getting the "I'm Your Man" soundtrack. I am a little disappointed I didn't listen before.
Granted Mr. Cohen isn't the best singer, but like Bob Dylan, you look past that into the brilliance of the music.

This is an excellent collection of Leonard Cohen recordings that covers the period 1967 to 2001 and shows development of his writing and distinctive vocal style. A nice accompaniment to his latest "Live in London" recording of the current concert tour where he reprises many of the same songs with an incredible band, new arrangements, and a great backup trio made up of Sharon Robinson and the "sublime" Webb sisters.Free Music Review: New to Cohen

I must have spent my youth in an alternative universe because until I heard 'Everybody Knows' on PBS's Magnificent Obsession, I hadn't a clue. His lyrics are poetry (yeah yeah, I know: He's the poet laureate to the music world & beyond.) and I HATE poetry. But not this guy's stuff. Leonard Cohen is my favorite ballad singer since many years. This album compiles his best songs, including my personal Number One "Dance me to the end of love". It was gift to my sweetheart living 'in the middle of Pacific' /Hawaii/ so it has additional sentimental & romantic value for both of us. I'm waiting for LC next album /after very good 'Dear Heather'/.
