Free Music Notes for Spaced Out: The Best of Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner

Free Music Review: A gem
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this years ago. It was absolutely hilarious. Just listened to it again. Still hilarious. Timeless. Seriously, Shatner doing the Beatles never, ever gets old. But the surprising part is, some of these songs get beyond their cheesiness--especially a couple of Nimoy's--and are actually charming. Not great music, to be sure, but listenable and enjoyable. And the track called Music for Watching Spacegirls is just plain good and should be in more soundtracks. So buy this: it's funny, it's cute, if you're a fan of these two, you'll love it. Great bang for your buck, too--there's a ton of tracks here.

Wow. wow. I'm not at all a "trekkie", never liked the shows, but always appreciated shatner for what he...does for pop culture. I'm 18 so missed the age of lusting after him, but get that he's...there. I got this on itunes on a whim. So Good. So Good. It is by far the most hypnotizing album I have ever heard. To hear young Shatner "sing" (his album 'has been' prepared me somewhat) and to hear Nimoy sing...I think I just might be high from simply hearing such tones. lol, buy it if you like bizarre. buy it if you like Nimoy or Shatner. buy it if you can't afford pot.

Free Music Review: Brilliant...yet disturbing!
Hit: 5 Stars

What can I say? Two on the my generations most notable icons on one album...what a jumbo treat!

My favorite tracks on this marvelous CD are Nemoy's 'Highly Illogical' and Shatner's 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'; both incredibaly viceral songs full of passion and pathos. If 'Lucy' is indeed the paean to psychadelics that many have said it to be- then Shatner has redefined "the trip".

This is high camp at it's best. The ultimate social gathering disc! Put this on and you're sure to get rid of 'that one guy' that shouldn't be at your party.

Free Music Review: Where no man's recorded before
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, THINK of these weird recordings as collector's material (you currently encouter some of these rarities on their original format at EBay's auctions). Second, ENJOY the humour, sensitivity and perspicacity of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy (Captain Kirk and Officer Spock) in these unique archives. Third, PLAY as often as you need this record to "space out" your earthy problems; in other words get ready to be beamed aboard a strange musical 'Enterprise'. As awful, entertaining and enjoyable as The Original Series.

Free Music Review: Like watching an auto accident...

You get the same sensation of "How horrible, let's watch" or listen in this case. I can't listen to one of Shatner's renditions without at least grinning. Nimoy is musically better, it would be hard to be worse than Shatner, but some songs are preachy or just not meant for him, "Sunny" comes to mind. Regardless, I love this album and I find it difficult to imagine anything else this strangely addictive. This is a musical classic for all the wrong reasons, and some new reasons you never even imagined.
