Free Music Notes for Les Miserables (1987 Original Broadway Cast)Free Music Review: The Best Les Miz CD Yet! Hit: 5 Stars
Alright, there are three things about this recording that tell why this is the definitive recording of Les Miserables. First of all, all of the leads are very good singers, except for David Bryant, who's Marius is a bit weak. Terrence Mann is the absolute best actor to play Javert ever! I just cant stand Phillip Quast, his Javert was just too operatic for a musical. Second, the instrumentation of this recording is much better than the London recording. The music just drags on and on. And third, the chorus works very well together, and presents a very good collective tone.
Free Music Review: MUSICAL THEATRE AT IT'S BEST Hit: 5 Stars
Les Miserables is possibly one of msucic theatres greatest creations. Capturing the death, depression and life in France during the French Revoloution, Les Miserables will take you on a ride that you could not ever forget. This recording creates a powerful and ddisturbing picture of what life was like during that awful time. My first memory of music theatre is 'Do You Hear the People Sing?' which features in theis compact disk. It is a description to which no person could write - Les Miserables will touch your heart and is most possibly going to bring you to tears.
Free Music Review: Wonderful Production Hit: 5 Stars
I'm among the last on the planet to see this wonderful show and, after I returned from the London trip when I enjoyed this treat, I wanted a CD to enjoy on my iPOD. As I researched my options, I discovered this recording from the original Broadway show and decided to order. I have been just delighted - wonderful music and the CD also contained the text of all the songs which is fun to read as I'm listening.
I start to play the music - and close my eyes, and I'm back in the London theater, listening to these lovely songs.
Free Music Review: One of the greats Hit: 5 Stars
Not normally being a Broadway music fan myself, I must admit i was skeptical when I first discovered this collection some years ago. The book has always been a favorite so I was intrigued at the musical. I was instantly captured by the mood and the bigger than life feel that comes through and, for me, there will never be an improvement on the original cast. In nearly 20 years, I am still not tired of listening to these songs and singing along to my family's dismay. It is truly one of the greats.
Free Music Review: The Broadway Cast! Wow! Hit: 5 Stars
Well, what can I say about Les Mis. It is by far my favorite musical, and the Origional Broadway Cast shows it off. In my opinion, Eponine has an amazing voice on the recording, and adds her own touch of style to it. Also, Fantine's voice is full and with expression, along with the other females to fit their parts. The recording is so thrilling, that you get the sense that you are really there watching the show! Well I hope I helped anyone who wants to hear Les Mis. Always follow your dreams! :o)
