Back in the day of LPs and 45s, I got hooked on Mountain, the first incarnation of Leslie West. The Great Fatsby and the Leslie West Band were also worn out spinning around on my turntable. Now, fast forward thirty years and Leslie is still around. One standout on this CD is his rendition of "Stormy Monday," which is quite different than, say Diane Schuur's, and showcases his ability to take a great song, turn it on its ear, and produce something really surprising. This is good solid blues and a worthy addition to your CD library, but not one people are going to be talking about in reverent tones thirty years from now.
