Free Music Review: Authentic Roots

Levon's first studio release since who knows when is outstanding, but not Band-like. The 2007 Grammy winner for Best Traditional Folk Album this is a really rootsy album with fiddles, mandolins, and acoustic guitar all over it. The songs, whether recent or ancient, sound traditional. Some of these are songs Levon learned on the farm when he was a kid and his parents would sing them. But they all sound real, like he lived them and they're all brought to life by the wonderful production provided by Larry Campbell and Amy Helm.
Very highly recommended.

Great overall work from one of the rock icons. Besides being a legend, he is a wonderful man, and a gentleman, who I have met a few times. Great work by Larry Campbell, and Theresa Williams, well deserved Grammy.
