Free Music Notes for Dirt FarmerFree Music Review: For me this is the best albulm of 2007 hands down. Hit: 5 StarsI doubt many of the people who grew up on the corporate music of the last fifteen to twenty years will know what to make of this CD. I hope they listen to it carefully. It is pure art, full of emotion. I don't ever expect to hear this on mainstream radio because it is too American, and too far out of the box. Rock on Levon.
Free Music Review: Favorite all-time albums(C.D.'s) Hit: 5 Stars This is joining a short list of our favorite(albums) C.D.'s of all(our) time. We have listened to it over and over. Other all time faves are, Nashville Skyline(Dylan),Tapestry (Carol King),Sweet Baby James(James Taylor), Will The Circle Be Unbroken (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and all), and the "O Brother Where Art Thou"(Movie Soundtrack)
Free Music Review: One good listen. Hit: 3 StarsI really enjoyed listening to this the first time but progressively less each time thereafter. It starts to sound tinny or whiny after a while. Actually, I don't think I've made it passed the 3rd or 4th track since that first time through.
Free Music Review: Helm's 'Dirt Farmer' a Classic Hit: 5 StarsDon't hestitate getting Dirt Farmer by Levon Helm. That is unless you don't care for honest and beautiful music that is the heritage of our country. 'Single Girl, Married Girl is my personal favorite. Levon's voice is as real and steeped in the south as it has always been. If you loved the emotion and soul of "The Weight", you'll love every track on this one.
Free Music Review: Levon is Back! Hit: 5 StarsThis music is amazing! We should all thank God Levon Helm recovered from throat cancer and rebuilt his barn studio. He sings the songs of his parents, and he really keeps their music alive. Dirt Farmer is definitely one of the top 10 albums of 2007.
