Free Music Notes for The End Of The Universe

Free Music Review: Lewis Black is brilliant
Hit: 5 Stars

Here Mr. Black takes on the government after 9/11 plus other topics with intellegence and wonderful spot on observations. He is also very funny. This is my favorite album of his so far.

Free Music Review: The master of catching news that falls through the"cracks"
Hit: 5 Stars

It's Lewis Black... LEWIS FREAKIN' BLACK, you people!!! This guy stays pissed off more than I do, and it's fun to listen to him rant! Get a listen, and see if you don't agree...

Free Music Review: Lewis at his hilarious best
Hit: 5 Stars

This was funny, I had to stop listening to it in the car, I missed my exit laughing.

Free Music Review: Starbucks, MTV, Britney Spears, W,- Lewis Black covers all the bases on this record.
Hit: 4 Stars

I suppose it's worth mentioning that, like any comedy record, your enjoyment of 'The End of the Universe' will be somewhat related to your ability to stomach the comedian's voice. Though not as...ahem...unique as, say Bobcat Goldthwait's, Lewis Black does have a specific, some might say gravelly voice. It may be an aquired taste, but I personally enjoy all of Lewis' vocal inflections.
But really what matters is the material, which is particularly strong on this release. A major theme of the first quarter of the disc is how anyone with the ability will turn a buck without a second thought to the artistic or cultural consequences. The absutdity of aging 'classic' rockers Aerosmith performing at the Super Bowl half time show with, of all people Nsync and Britney Spears, and the insane number of Starbucks coffee shops is addressed (by the way, the Universe has at least two ends-the other is in the next town from where I live where two Starbucks' reside directly across the street from each other). Even Lewis quips that he has thought of opening a gun shop and advertising on the billboards that appear above Atlanta's nightmarish traffic.
Lewis, being a topical comic, addresses issues such airport security in the wake of September 11, the government, and weather, and the Weather Channel.
While sure to offend some, Lewis definetely has a point-the absurd amount of money it took the government to let folks know they were going to recieve a 'surplus' check in the mail, Bush's reasoning for not signing the Global Warming Treaty, apparently because '...he doesn't have any SKIN!' And really, is it necessary to search old ladies in wheelchairs, or single mothers at airport check points?

Free Music Review: Awesome
Hit: 4 Stars

I, like pretty much anyone else, first saw Lewis Black on the Daily Show and always likes his 'Back in Black', mainly because he is really good to point out stupid things that kinda show western society is in its downfall.

Of course September 11 is being discussed and even though he is not the first to discuss Airport Security it remains funny, though George Carlin has the best bit about it.

My favorite part is about the end of the universe in Houston Texas, where there are two Starbucks right across from each other. It's hilarious, made me think of 'Best in Show'.

If you like 'Back in Black' you will certainly be entertained by this, with the F-word!
