This CD is one of the very few movie soundtracks I have ever purchased. I loved the movie and I love the music. My nine year old daughter loves this music too. She remembers each scene better than I do just from listening. The music is hauntingly evocative. Barcarolle brings tears to my eyes, yet there is joy as well in the other tracts. We've listened to it dozens of times already...Free Music Review: excellent!!

This musical score was a wonderful compliment to a wonderful film. I was so glad to see the film get the attention it did at the Academy Awards. I have always had trouble with films dealing with the Haulocaust, because of their brutality. So, the music was a welcome and pleasant surprise. The music in the Academy Award winning film Life is Beautiful is, well.....beautiful. I haven't heard this good of Italian-based music since the glory days of The Godfather. Nicola Piovani sets the right mood for the Holocaust times in the movie that resulted to a "beautiful" soundtrack. But don't get me wrong, Piovani is no Nino Rota.Free Music Review: An instant classic!

Piovani's music is simple and touching. It is original, and deserves attention and a close listening: it will immediately become part of you. It is not the typical grandiose score we are sometimes accustomed to. It goes deeper in emotions and feelings, much like the movie does with the story. It is already a classic not to be missed.
