This album will be reviewed song by song like usual. 10 point scale. 10 = Absolutely amazing, 1 = Banging on a Tin CanHanging By A Moment, 9, Great great song that is defenetly becoming a big hit. Lyrics don't really hit home with me but it does sound great. Sick Cycle Carousel, 9+, This is really really close to a 10 but just misses because theres a part in the song that sorta sounds bad to me, where he first sings sick cycle carousel, it just doesn't fit quite right although he does get it right the second time. Really good song though. Catchy as h*!#. Unknown, 8, I know I've heard this song before, anywhoo it is a great song but gets a slightly lower score because it doesn't have too much originality to it. Who else sang this dang? Somebody Elses Song, 8, Another great sounding song. "I remind myself of somebody else." OOOO what a great line. Great vocals. Trying, 3, Eww, I don't like this song much at all. The lyrics all seem forced, the chorus is really tacky and cliched. One of the only songs I skip on the whole album. Only One, 6, This is not a bad score at all. I do like this song it just didn't hook onto me. On most albums this could be a hit just not this one. Believe me bad songs DON'T get 6's. Simon, 7, I absolutely love the backround to this song. It is so comforting and could put me to sleep (in a good way). The lyrics to this song reminds me a lot of Quasimodo. The musical part of this song is what gets me not the lyrics though. Good song. Cling and Clatter, 4, Where is this song going? My teacher would say that this song has potential. Breathing, 7, If there were two more verses in this song it would be absolutely great. But, even though the chorus is great and catchy, it is repeated too many times and I feel like there is something missing. Good song anyways though. Quasimodo, 10, Best song on the cd. Extremely catchy and I love how it builds and builds as the song goes on and I seriously get goosebumps at the end. This is a perfect song. Somewhere In Between, 8, Oh boy. My friend got a hold of this song and he can't stop listening to it. If I hear this song one more time I'm going to the funny farm. Anyways even though I can't listen to it anymore I can't deny that it's really good. Again another really catchy song and nice and relaxing. Na na na na naaa na na. Everything, 9, Another great song that builds on itself as it goes. When Jason starts singing, you're all I want, you're all i need, you're everyting, it gives me goosebumps. Great closer. Any song that is scored 8 or above is absolutely great. This album has 7 songs that fit in this category. This is probably one of the Top 5 albums of the year and I'm predicting it to become absolutely huge. Please check it out you'll like it.
Free Music Review: One of the best records ever released Hit: 5 Stars
I bought No Name Face before "Hanging By A Moment" become the phenonenom that it has become. I liked the song and it was getting some radio airplay so I bought the CD. Let me say that is a great song, but all the songs on this CD are either equally good or better.1. "Hanging By A Moment" - I'm sure everyone has heard this. It is a smash Top 10 hit and is an excellent song. I love it, despite it has been getting a little old. The acoustic version is even better. 5/5 2. "Sick Cycle Carousel" - A great song, even better than "Hanging By A Moment." This is the second single and I think it's great. The lyrics flow excentelly, it has a great sound, and is an awesome song. 5/5 3. "Unknown" - This is definitely, what I think of as a summer song. If it would be released as a single over the summer, I think it would do good, because radios would be apt to play it. It has a great chorus and a good beat, but is probably one of the lesser tracks on the album. Still a great song. 4/5 4. "Somebody Else's Song" - This seems to be a big hit with other Lifehouse fans, but it's probably one of my least favorites on the album. It just doesn't have enough bite for me. 3.5/5 5. "Trying" - I didn't like this song at first, but after a few more times, it became a favorite. It has a nice, slow groove to it. Awesome. 4.5/5 6. "Only One" - Like "Trying", it took a few times for me to enjoy it, but this is probably one of my favorites on the album. It's a little harder than the other tracks in spots, but also has a nice mellow undertone. A great song. 5/5 7. "Simon" - This is a great track, one you wouldn't hear on the radio, but one you buy the album for. It has a great chorus and the lyrics are amazing. 5/5 8. "Cling & Clatter" - The lighter version of "Hanging By A Moment." This is a great song and if released as a single, would do good. One you want to blast on the radio. 5/5 9. "Breathing" - Release this damn song now. If released, this would be Lifehouse's biggest hit. This is a great song and is a "radio song" for sure. 5/5 10. "Quasimodo" - One of the harder songs, reminds me of 3 Doors Down. A cool track, but not one of the albums best. 4/5 11. "Somewhere In Between" - A cool, slow track, yet easily forgetable. 4/5 12. "Everything" - Everyone's favorite. This is an awesome song and one of the best I've heard in a long time. Anyone will like this song, I guarentee it. 6/5 Overall, a must buy for any fan of any type of music. It has elements of alternative, hard rock, and jazz in spots. Pick it up, it's worth your cash.
Free Music Review: The best up and coming band!!! Hit: 5 Stars
In this review, I am going to try and guide you on the type of songs and music on this fantastic album. Like a lot of people, I bought this album after hearing just one track and I was sceptical about buying the album because it was really expensive over here!!But I did buy it and I was amazed from beginning to end. "Hanging By A Moment"-This is quite an upbeat track despite it being about unrequited love!!The melody is amazing and so are the lyrics! "Sick Cycle Carousel"-This was the first track that I heard off the album and I loved it!The whole song is just fantastic. "Unknown"-this is a really true song!!You can really relate to the amazing lyrics; 'it's the unknown, the don't know, that keeps me hanging on and on, and on to you'. "Somebody Else's Song"-You can really identify with Jason Wade in this song because he sings with such emotion; 'I remind myself of somebody else'. "Trying"-the tempo is slowed down here, with a beautiful piano riff in the background and its about going through life in the way that you know how to. "Only One"-this is being sung about somebody else who will never change with time or what people say. "Simon"-this song is amazing and Wade's voice is incredible!!Its about how hard bullies can make people's lives- 'back in your cage, the only place, where they will, leave you alone'. "Cling and Clatter"-here the tempo is increased again and its a good change in mood. "Breathing"-a beautiful song, the lyrics are gorgeous and it is sung brilliantly. The tune is lovely too. 'I want nothing more than to sit outside heaven's door and listen to you breathing, its where I wana be'. "Quasimodo"-this song is quicker in tempo again and it really is fantastic too. "Somewhere in Between"-another fantastic song with great lyrics and sung brilliantly. "Everything"-this is my favourite song on the album. Its just gorgeous, the lyrics, the melody and the way it is sung all merge together to form one of the best songs on the album. So there you have it!!I hope you find this review useful-the album is a masterpiece and a must to any music fans collection!!! I promise-you will not be disappointed, even if you have only heard one track before buying it!! Happy listening!!
Free Music Review: No Name Face -- Money Well Spent Hit: 5 Stars
I heard Hanging By A Moment somewhere and fell in love with the song. I downloaded it and repeated it a million times on my discman until I was almost sick of it. Then, I finally went out and bought the whole CD and was very pleased with the result.
Hanging By A Moment - 5/5 An excellent first track. I usually hate the first track of a CD because I hear it everytime I turn on my CD player, but this one is a great exception. Powerful guitar, great vocals and lyrics.
Sick Cycle Carousel - 4.5/5 Slow beginning (with nice vocals) which leads up to a great upbeat section at the end. If only I could play guitar half as good as that! :P
Unknown - 4/5 Pretty good song. Nice vocals and guitars as with the rest of the CD. Really great chorus.
Somebody Else's Song - 4/5 Pretty good. Nothing really stands out about it that I can think of. The chorus is the best and easiest to remember part of the song.
Trying - 4/5 Interesting lyrics, but you may have to listen more than once to get it all. Laid-back song which would be good background music.
Only One - 4/5 Same sound as the rest of the CD, hence not much to say other than that I liked it.
Simon - 4.5/5 A little different than the rest of the CD. Same type of guitar/vocals but a little something different I can't put my finger on. Great chorus.
Cling and Clatter - 5/5 My other favorite song on this CD besides Hanging By A Moment. Upbeat and an excellent chorus. Gets stuck in your head easily, but that's not a bad thing.
Breathing - 4/5 Yep, another good one which fits in with the feel of the whole CD.
Quasimodo - 4.5/5 A little more upbeat. Nice drums and guitar. Lyrics are a little hard to understand except during the chorus (which is good - choruses seem to be the strong point of the CD).
Somewhere In Between - 4.5/5 Reminds me a little bit of a low-key YellowCard. In the same style as Hanging By A Moment. Really good lyrics.
Everything - 4/5 Nice song. It gets a bit long and although the lyrics are good it is a bit repetitive. The upbeat part at the end is worth listening to the whole song for.
Free Music Review: Beautiful! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful album by a talented group of guys. Some of my favorite love songs are on this album. Many of the songs are simply beautiful, and these guys really know how to write. These guys will just keep getting better. There are really no weak spots on this album.. just great songs and some that arent quite as great.
Breathing -- A great song. Beautiful lyrics, great accompaniment. No wonder this was such a big hit. 5/5
Cling and Clatter -- An excellent song. These guys write some great lyrics, always a strong point. 5/5
Everything -- One of the ballads on this album. Very slow, but very nice. Beautiful. 4/5
Hanging By a Moment -- Their biggest song. Sounds great.. truely a great love song. My only complaint is that the vocals sound a bit processed here. But it works well with the song. 5/5
Only One -- A very good song too. One of the few songs on here that isnt a pure love song. "I guess you're the only who/ who still changes faces." 4.5/5
Quasimodo -- One of the harder songs on the album. A song about the insecurities in a relationship and the differences between people. 5/5
Sick Sad Cycle -- This tune has the catchiest tune on the album. Also a bit harder than most. (By the way, there's no "hard" track on this album, but some are a bit harder). 5/5
Simon -- Another ballad, though not as good as Everything. Probably the weakest song on the album.. just a bit too dull.. bit too long. 3.5/5
Someone Else's Song -- A very good song. Really shows off the lead vocalists' range. Very poignant lyrics too. 5/5
Somewhere in Between -- A good song. Not really a stand out though. 4.5/5
Trying -- Another good song that doesnt really stand out. Kind've belnds in with Somewhere in Between. 4/5
Unknown -- The fastest song on the album. A good way to end the album. Very catchy song. It also features the best guitar on the album. 4.5/5
This is really a great album. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good rock/soft rock album or some beautiful love songs!
