Free Music Notes for No Name FaceFree Music Review: Wonderful, wonderful CD Hit: 5 Stars
I'll admit, I wasn't too into Lifehouse's music when I first heard it. I tend to judge songs a bit too quickly, and when I came across "Hanging By a Moment" on a mix CD my friends gave me for my 16th birthday, I skipped over it. But one day my friend was listening to the CD and absolutely fell in love with the song. She asked me who sang it, and I had no idea. But I'd listened to more of the song, and fell in love with it myself. We finally found out it was by Lifehouse. I planned to buy the CD, but after sampling some of the songs on a listening station at Wal-Mart, I didn't think I'd like all the songs. See, I thought their music was a bit too mellow for me. I love mellow ballads every once and a while, but I tend to prefer more upbeat ones, like those by matchbox twenty and Vertical Horizon. So I waited. Finally, I listened to my friend's copy and realized I *had* to have this CD. So I bought it, and the only reason it's been out of my CD player has been to go in my portable one.As for the songs themselves, my two favorites are "Everything" and "Somewhere In Between". "Everything" is undoubtly one of the most beautiful, incredible songs I've ever heard (not to mention romantic and very, very heartfelt-Jason has an *amazing* voice), and I can't listen to "Somewhere In Between" without smiling. "Sick Cycle Carousel" is great, too. There are one or two songs I'm not too fond of, but finding a CD where I even like most of the songs is rare. In short, this CD is excellent, and if you like this type of music (heck, even if you don't- I didn't think I'd like the music at first) you should buy it.
Free Music Review: An Essential Album For Any Music Lover! Hit: 5 Stars
While 'Hanging By A Moment' may be Lifehouse's breakthrough track, every song on the album has measured up to expectations. It is hard to imagine that the group behind this amazing music is barely out of their teens... the end product is one of depth, immense talent and maturity beyond their years. It is rare to purchase a CD and fall in love with every song on the listing, but Lifehouse proves that such thing is possible. Even though there will always be comparisons made with Creed, I have every confidence that Lifehouse will emerge with their own definitive musical style. Standout tracks on the album include: 1) 'Hanging By A Moment' (1) - familiar to all, this song is in the same league as 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls... it may have heavy airplay, but never seems to lose its appeal. 2) 'Only One' (6) - mellow, soft rock... reminiscent of the softer sounds of the Smashing Pumpkins on the 'Adore' album. 3) 'Simon' (7) - heart-rending... Wade's raw emotions shine throughout the song. 4) 'Breathing' (9) - my personal favourite on the album. This song offers a different sound of Lifehouse but again, wonderful melody accompanied by passionate lyrics. 5) 'Everything' (12) - this closing track leaves the listener in awe due to its powerful profession of love and devotion. What makes Lifehouse appealing is the underlying theme of the universally-coveted emotion of love, whether it be with another person/persons or on a deeper spiritual level, one's devotion to religion and faith. The lyrics are open to interpretation and alternative readings can be made, depending on discourses. I highly recommend this album.(...)

I usually listen to more heavy stuff and used to just skip any soft songs cuz well they sound like pop. If this is what you do then this band will be totally different.

Free Music Review: Excellent tracks & spiritual lyrics... Hit: 5 Stars
On their debut album Lifehouse are able to combine original, radio-friendly melodies and inspired lyrics - and they do it gracefully. Lead singer Jason Wade has a very spiritual way of writing songs and his voice is deep, warm and carries every song beautifully. It sure sounds like the band's been making music since ages. And with a little help from our side, they will be... The album's got two kinds of tracks. First there are the commercial soft-rock tunes, dying to get on the American airwaves. "Hanging By A Moment" is excellent and currently number two on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. "Somebody Else's Song" will be the next single and is more of the same. It starts like Radiohead's "Karma Hotel" and slowly errupts in a truly brilliant song. But the reason why you should buy this album is for the other kind of songs - the songs that give Lifehouse their own identity and quickly become your favorite tracks on the album. "Trying" is haunting and sounds a lot like Crowded House's best moments. The lovely Kendall Payne ("Jordan's Sister" - great CD!) provides chilling backing vocals. But without a doubt the best song of the entire set is "Breathing". It'll probably be released as the third single. This track is just awesome, it blows you away! Listen to it and you'll understand. In Europe nobody knows them yet, but I'm sure Lifehouse are here to stay. And even if we never hear a thing about them, I still have "No Name Face", a great album I'm gonna cherish. And so should you... These guys are just one click away - and they're worth it.
Free Music Review: Could it BE any better?? Hit: 5 Stars
I had listened to Hanging By A Moment and i didnt see what was so great about it until I paid attention to the lyrics and realized how deep the words can get to you. Track #1 can reach someone in many ways as it did to me personally. No Name Face is a spectacular debut for such a young band. 12 refreshing, unique songs await you when u pop this into ur CD player. "Sick Cycle Carousel" can be described as one of those songs that just make you feel happy and joyous. This is probaly my favorite track on the album. Almost every other track on the album are enjoyable and you will most likely get something out of every song depending on what type of mood you are in. Many songs are slow-tempo and soft while a couple others such as "Quasimodo" are a little bit more hard-rock. The only 2 songs that I don't really like that much would be Track 8 "Cling & Clatter" and Track 11 "Somewhere In Between". But trust me, if you buy this album expecting every song to be like "Hanging By A Moment" then you'll be in for a big disappointment. While "Hanging..." is a very good song, it just doesn't compare to the other high-quality songs on this album such as "Everything". Now I close by saying that I'm disappointed with Lifehouse becuase their 2nd single will be "Sick Cycle Carousel". I think this is a big mistake because you need to pick another song such as "Simon" and leave the best songs to the people who buy the CD. I seriously recommend getting this album if you love alternative rock and different styles of music all in one CD.
