Free Music Review: Awesome CD! Get it NOW!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been listening to this CD for over a year now, and I'm still not tired of it. Here's a review of all the songs...

Hanging by a Moment - Awesome hit! Never gets old for me...
Sick Cycle Carousel - The tune is great and the lyrics are deep, it's the kind of song that gets you thinking...
Unknown - A nice song to reflect on... faith makes everybody scared... yes...
Somebody Else's Song - This song was written for all those kids with all these expectations around them that they forget who they realy are.
Trying - Jason Wade's first song, the lyrics have changed slightly from their first (rather unpopular) album when they were still under the name 'Blyss'
Only One - Great rock song, nice tune to it, nothing more to say. You won't get tired of it, that's a gurantee.
Simon - For all the losers and the oppressed, finally, a song you can relate with. Touching lyrics, makes me wanna cry...
Cling & Clatter - My least favorite on the album, but still an awesome listen nonetheless.

Breathing - Great love song! It's so infectous that it WILL get you singing while you're walking around in a mall or somethin.
Quasimodo - Another great rock song, like only one.
Somewhere In Between - A love song from Jason when he was courting his current wife. Beautiful lyrics and soothing melody, the PERFECT song.
Everything - This song... is just... magic... the BEST Lifehouse song..

Free Music Review: Lifehouse: Unwitting poets
Hit: 5 Stars

This band is, hands down, my favorite band. Their music is well-conducted: who would have thought of adding a viola with 2 electric guitars, a bass, and drums? The best song on this CD is, without a doubt, "Breathing." My girlfriend and I fell in love to this song and listen to it together all the time. The next best has to be "Everything." It is so powerful and honest a prayer to God that it is really moving every time I hear it, even when listened to many times in succession. Songs like "Unknown" and "Somewhere In Between" are also simply awesome. I guess the best thing about all of these songs is: They are all poems simply written to music. Some of the songs' lyrics don't even rhyme; that is so awesome, that Jason Wade/Ron Aniello were able to write such beautiful lyrics without worrying about restricting themselves to rhyming lyrics. I absolutely love that. The music is just plain beautiful to listen to, and it's really fun to play along with your own guitar; a lot of the songs aren't as complicated as they might sound on your player. ^_^ Anyway, if you like both reading poetry and listening to beautiful music (ahem, viola, ahem), Lifehouse's No Name Face is for you. Also, if you liked that, you will absolutely love Stanley Climbfall, another wonderful assortment of poetic songs by the musical trio dubbed Lifehouse. I can't wait for their next CD!!! Hurry, guys!!!

Free Music Review: A wonderful major label debut
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this CD because 'Hanging by a Moment,' reawakened in me a sense that true rock music was still alive. In an era of sickly sweet pop delivered by boy bands and teen princesses and acidic, cacauphonic noise produced by artists like Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock, it is on this music that I hang my hopes for rock. That this is Lifehouse's first major label album is simply amazing. It is a wonderful CD wtih a sound that you would expect from a seasoned band, not a newcomer.

It's an incredible CD with many absolute gems. Their first single, 'Hanging by a Moment' is no fluke. With great cuts such as 'Sick Cycle Carousel,' 'Only One,' 'Simon,' 'Breathing,' and 'Somewhere in Between,' to mention only a few, it seems as though Lifehouse is destined for greatness with their brand of poetry with a rock guitar. The lyrics are stunning. This is music with heart and soul and you can feel it when you listen to it. Jason Wade's voice has a unique quality to it, unmistakable, soothing, and rough at the same time, it creates an almost hypnotizing effect. Their sound is very different from Everclear's, but like that band, I believe that Lifehouse will come forward as purveyors of great rock music in our time.

If you liked the feel of Matchbox20's 'Yourself...' or Third Eye Blind's self titled debut, or the honest, emotional storytelling of Everclear, you can't go wrong with Lifehouse's 'No Name Face.'

Free Music Review: Superb musicality by a group that deserves wider recognition
Hit: 5 Stars

On the off chance that this might be a halfway decent album, I bought it after having heard just a single tune ("Trying") used towards the end of a television show! My willingness to take a flyer on a group I'd never heard of was amply rewarded with Lifehouse's "No Name Face," an album of thoughtful, complex, intense lyricism and yes, good old rock 'n' rollin' tunes. The whole group is terrific, but Jason Wade's husky, raspy voice deserves special mention. It is, for all its rough edges, a supremely expressive instrument for Lifehouse's songs.

"Hanging by a Moment" uses a propulsive drum rhythm to drive this song of the nervousness and apprehension inherent in the early stages of love. "Trying" remains just as gorgeous as the first time I heard it, and blends a pleading weariness for honesty with a willingness to meet the singer's lover more than halfway. "Simon" eerily blends a musically lovely, quiet ballad with lyrics of almost shocking ferocity.

Interestingly, a lot of Lifehouse's lyrics bear reading in a Christian context, a fact I fervently hope won't hold this fine group back from reaching a wider audience. I have no idea if the group intends to present a Christian face to the public or if these guys are hoping for a subtler reading of their faith, but the bare facts remain: Lifehouse is an enormously gifted band with much to say.

Free Music Review: Hit Single - Worst Song on the CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

When the Hit single from a debut CD is the worst on the disk and among those that cause the "Oh No, Not That Song, Change The Station, Gag Reflex" one is hardly inclined to give this CD a listen, let alone buy it. For some of us, over play was not the reason we took a dislike to the hit single from the CD "No Name Face." It was something you can't really name. I can only tell you that music recorded by Paul Young & Boy George induces the same reaction for some of us. So how do you get those of us who write this band "Lifehouse" off to give them a listen? Shear accident, pure coincidence, or absolute genius, perhaps a combination of all of the above. It took a hit TV series called "Third Watch" to use a tune off this CD that got zero airplay and large group of us determined to find out what the "Mystery Tune" was. Thankfully we did and discovered that this CD by Lifehouse entitled No Name Face, is so diverse and reveals such extraordinary talent it is a must have for any music library. There are a couple of weak tunes on the CD, but the majority of the songs are so amazing they over write any flaws there may be anywhere else on this CD. It's not just a collection of tunes, it's an experience. Trying, Sick Cycle Carousel, Quasimoto and Breathing are incredible. Several of these tunes are bound to remain among my all time favorites.
