Free Music Notes for Hard CoreFree Music Review: got a STD listening to this LP....SO NASTY!!!!! Hit: 5 Starsthis album is definatly one of the greatest hip hop album of all time... there were NO female rappers out that talked dirty and got away with it.....lil kim made her mark for being the nastiest rapper to date...
the best song on the album has to be 'queen b****'. the beat is sick and has a quick lil cameo from the late great biggie smalls...i love the way she is rapping on this song... the best part of the song is the part where she is watching cartoons (you definatley have to listen to song to know what is talked about here).
'big mama thang' w/ jay-z (one of his best cameos ever), 'crush on you' w/ lil' cease (not the version with lil kim but he introduced himself good on this song), 'drugs', 'not tonight' (just wish it was the remix), 'dreams', 'no time' w/ puff daddy, and 'f*** you" are instant classics....
if you like something different from the typical rap you are listening to.... buy this album...one of the most shoking cds of all time...
Free Music Review: Is this the same woman who made Notorious K.I.M & LBM? Hit: 3 StarsLil' Kim is the female rapper with super hyped up sex talk, a potty mouth, and a New York attitude. She has to be one of my favorite artists but her first CD was garbage!
Intro In A-Minor (10/10) - I give this a ten because it was so funny the first time I heard it.
Big Momma Thang (10/10) - I just love this song! This is one of the only songs I can stand to listen to on the album.
No Time (featuring P.Diddy) (10/10) - This is the other song that I love to listen to. P.Diddy adds his deep vocals on this track.
Spend A Little Doe (5/10) - Alright. Enough said.
Take It! - A boring interlude about messing around with Kim.
Crush On You (10/10) - I really do like this song. She chose the only good songs on her album as singles.
Drugs (6/10) - Pretty alright. Never really listen to it really. Seems more of an album filler.
Scheamin' - An interlude with the girls talking about setting a guy up.
Queen Bitch (2/10) - A boring album filler. When is the real music going to come? A few years later apparently.
Dreams (10/10) - A funny song about Kim having dreams about getting with an R&B singer.
M.A.F.I.A. Land (0/10) - Just a pointless album filler. Skip it all the time. Being hard on this CD doesn't make her any better.
We Don't Need It (3/10) - OK. But I never really listen to it.
Not Tonight (8/10) - A nice female anthem song. The remix is better.
Player Haters - A skit.
**** You (0/10) - Are you freaking kidding me? This is garbage!
I wouldn't buy this garbage, I would rather download "Big Momma Thang", "No Time", "Crush On You", "Dreams", and "Not Tonight". I'd rather spend my money on the real Lil' Kim. La Bella Mafia and Notorious K.I.M. are so much better.
Overall Grade : C+
Free Music Review: Better than you would think Hit: 4 StarsJunior Mafia member Lil' Kim goes solo on "Hardcore". This album is better than you think. Although she definitely sold out completely on her following releases, she does have some street credibility on her debut album. She will never be known as a strong lyricist but has a good beat selection. For those nostalgic of 90s hip hop and female hip hop before it became overly cliched and saturated this along with Foxy Browns "Ill Na Na" would be good albums to pick up.
Free Music Review: HARD!!!!! Hit: 5 StarsTHIS IS A GOOD CD. I WAS REALLY SURPRISED BECAUSE WHEN THIS CD CAME OUT I WAS LIKE THIS CD IS GONNA BE WACK. GOOD SONGS KEPT COMING OUT ON THE RADIO AND I REALIZED THAT I HADA LIKED THE SONS. THEN, WHEN I SAW THE MUSIC VIDEO TO NO TIME I WAS CONVINCED AND THEN TO HEAR CRUSH ON YOU. SO THEREFORE, THIS CD IS NOT ALL THAT BAD..
Free Music Review: Hardcore Poetry Hit: 5 StarsLil' Kim gets a lot of heat for not being afraid to do what it is that she wants to do, and that definetly holds true here. "Hardcore" is the first album in the Lil' Kim Legacy, and my favortie. She tells it like it is, and that's how it's supposed to be told! Get this CD if you are really into rap, and like an artist whose different from the game. All the other rap females say that Lil' Kim is trying to take their style, but she's been around before them (i.e., Foxy Brown). There is really one other rapper whom I feel is equal to Lil' Kim, and that's Gangsta Boo. Do your thing, Kim!
