Free Music Review: My new favorite album
Hit: 5 Stars

Tha Carter III is an amazing piece of work. I can honestly say that I like EVERY SINGLE track on here. Lil' Wayne gives the listeners a nice variety of songs, all hot.

For the real Lil' Wayne fans...he starts off with "3 Peat" which is track with a hot beat and Weezy just spits, plain and simple. This one reminds me of "Tha Mobb" from Tha Carter II and "Fly In" from Tha Carter, on which he just spits to the beats forever and a day. "Mr. Carter" features Jay-Z and can be seen as the official passing of the torch to Weezy. Jay-Z does his thing but Lil' Wayne takes over the track and proves that he is the best rapper alive (and has been for a couple years now, in my opinion). "Got Money" with T-Pain is a club song with a fast pace to it. "Dr. Carter" is NICE. The concept is ridiculous...he flows 3 verses to 3 different rappers to try and help their rap game recover from stuff like weak flows. "Phone Home"...Lil' Wayne spits like no other. "Mrs. Officer" is NICE, another one for the ladies with a Wayne twist. "Let The Beat Build" is one of my favorites because, well, along with the kind of old school feel to the beat, Lil' Wayne KILLS it. "Shoot Me Down" is a deep song, slow (like "I Feel Like Dying" for those who know it). "Playing With Fire" is another one of my favorites. It has a rock-n-roll type of background to it and Lil' Wayne flows from his heart on this one. "You Ain't Got Nuthin" features Juelz Santana and Fabolous...and starting with Fabolous and ending with Lil' Wayne, the verses get sicker and sicker. "Dontgetit" is another track where he spits from the soul, then, to add to it, he speaks his mind on topics like African-Americans being victims in this country to his thoughts on Al Sharpton...this is another one of my favorites.

ENJOY...Tha Carter III is my favorite of Tha Carter series...unbelievable. I bought it the day it came out...and nearly a month later...I still have it in continous rotation.

Free Music Review: Wayne rises to the top with Tha Carter III
Hit: 5 Stars

Tha Carter III is unanimously the most anticipated rap album of 2008, but then again, it was the also the most anticipated of 2007. With all the hype Wayne has accumulated with this album, who wouldn't expect this album to be absolute genius? For the most part, this album lives up to all the hype!

From the first track ("3 Peat") Lil Wayne illustrates his crazy mastermind, undeniable swagger, and brilliant lyricism and continues throughout Tha Cater III to remind listeners why he is "the best rapper alive." Even Jay-Z approves and appropriately anoints him: "I share mike time with my heir," he raps. "Young Carter go farther, go further, go harder. Is that not why we came? And if not, then why bother?" Wayne stays unfailing with his street followers with the reckless "A Milli" and "You Ain't Got Nuthin'", but breaks barriers to jump into the commercial scene with the #1 "Lollipop" and soon to be chart-topper "Got Money". But don't worry, Wayne is just as outrageous and insane as he use to be--In "Phone Home" Wayne channels his inner extraterrestrial and in the intense, soul-driven track "Playing with Fire", he goes ballistic and frantic. But the real magic happens in the beautiful, empowering lament about Hurricane Katrina, "Tie My Hands". It is absolutely stunning and moving--it's something rappers rarely capture, especially Lil Wayne. It is a raw, human, and barrier-breaking track that proves Tha Carter III is the best rap album of the year.

This album's flow seamless and nearly flawless--Wayne's best effort to date. Everything Wayne touches turns to gold, and it's obvious that Tha Carter III drenched with Wayne's brilliant touch. In 2005 on Tha Carter II, Wayne claimed that he was the best rapper alive, but now he can finally back up that heavy boast.

Free Music Review: To all the Haters
Hit: 5 Stars

First off let me just say that this cd has been in my car for weeks and will not leave anytime soon. I am from the south (Texas actually)and I think the best commercial rapper alive is Jay-Z, and anybody who says Jay-z isn't one of the best is not a true hiphop lover, they just listen to the beats and backgrounds. Their are artists that their beats makes the lyrics, (these are usually the same ones that the people listed above like) than there are the artists where their lyrics outshine the beats, but you have to be a person who actually listens rather than someone who just shakes their head to the beat and ignores the versus'. These two guys above (supposedly) don't right any of there raps. Now if this is true (and if it wasnt i think it would be exposed sooner or later)The spontaneous creativity of these two by listening to their lyrics, and vocabulary (especially Jay-z) these guys are definetly two of the best of all time. Wayne can flow like an animal, and the fact that he drops a couple of mixtapes every month, Me myself i have about 71 lil wayne albums, and like every single one. Most of these mixtapes arent released in most music stores and he puts on his site for all to download for FREE
I was the type of person who never really liked mixtapes because they seemed weak and cheap sounding. But waynes mixtapes are pure genius, and also have cameos by all the top artists currently out. Plus not to mention the cat is really young and only getting better. I was listening to wayne before anybody knew who he was commercially, and everybody ive introduced his music to loves it too. Lil wayne is maturing as a rapper, and lyricist, and does his own thing his own way, you don't have to like it but respect it HATERS.

Free Music Review: yes it is that good
Hit: 5 Stars

and while i may not say he's the best rapper alive. I'm sure there are a few others out there right now just as good if not better than Wayne. But not that many that bring the energy, lyrics and the flow that he does to each and every track. Whether he's tearing up a track like "A Milli" or rapping about the virtues of a "Lollipop" or trading bars with Jay-Z on "Mr. Carter".

Wayne almost always brings you songs that are a both easily accessible, fun to listen and sometimes thought provoking like "DontGetIt" which is worthy of a few listen if only to hear him talk about various issues in the world and a certain person. I also enjoyed "Dr. Carter" where he plays a doctor that specializes in resurrecting the lost skills of down and out rappers. Whether he's rapping on his own with "3Peat" or with another artist "Shot Me Down" w/D. Smith which is easily one of my favorites on the cd. It's a slower, ballad style song with the vocals "please don't shot me down" being sung in the background to great effect.

I'm glad Lil Wayne took his time with this cd before bringing it out despite the pressures of dropping the cd early. It gave him the time to come up with another great cd that should net him even more attention and respect throughout the music business. You would think that with the number of songs on the cd that it wouldnt be that cohesive or together. But it is that way minus a song or two and thankfully no interludes/intros which i've never been a fan of at all.

Free Music Review: 3 Peat
Hit: 5 Stars

Lil Wayne has really backed up the anticipation for this album. We have long awaited an album from Lil Wayne that has content and is not just him freestyling. Although we love to hear Wayne freestyle, on a official album we expect more, and that's exactly what he gave us. He has songs on this album that have meaning, content, and that can touch different audiences.
Songs like Dr. Carter and Phone Home were greatly produced and served as good metaphors. Then there are songs like Got Money, A Milli, and Nuthin On me that are straight hip-hop and reach the hardcore hip-hop fans. But the songs that most impressed me were Mr. Carter, Shoot Me Down, Tie My hands, and Misunderstood. Mr. Carter is just a well put together song that is a radio hit waiting to happen, and Tie My Hands addresses the issue of Hurricane Katrina and shows Lil Wayne's intelligence and awareness of what is going on in the world, which is what we have been waiting for from Weezy. Misunderstood is a very controversial song and also a very honest song. It states Wayne's opinion regarding a certain political figure and about the way the community operates and how some things are not fair.
I have been one of Wayne's biggest critics, but I must give credit where credit is due and say that he really did it big on this album. Go Weezy!
