Free Music Notes for Lilith Fair: A Celebration of Women in MusicFree Music Review: Some great tracks, but disappointing overall Hit: 3 Stars
I bought this after hearing great reports about the Lilith Fair. This CD, however, does not match up with those reports. CD #1 is blah until Susanna Hoff's "Eternal Flame" and Sarah McLachlan's "Building a Mystery". CD #2 is an improvement, beginning with the outstanding "Water is Wide". The rest of CD #2 pales in comparison, though. If you have access to online music source, just download those 3 tracks and forget the rest.
Free Music Review: O-Tay Hit: 3 Stars
I love Lilith Fair and am a huge fan of most of the artists. BUT, the tracks are not the artist's best songs! Paula Cole's Mississippi and Shawn Colvin's Trouble are should not have been included! However, I did enjoy Sarah McLachlan's Building a Mystery, Sarah McLachlan/Jewel/Indigo Girls' Water Is Wide/ and a couple others. All in all it way O-Tay but it could have been way better!
Free Music Review: Not as great as the concert Hit: 3 Stars
I was so excited to buy this CD after attending the Lileth Fair this summer. Unfortunately the CD was not half as interesting as the concert. Although there is a variety of performers on the 2-CD set, none are stellar like the in-person performances. I didn't enjoy many of the songs on the CD or the tone of the music.
Free Music Review: some good tracks, some pretty strange ones Hit: 3 Stars
Some songs that are extremely powerful. Some songs sound like a b**ch with an attitude. The procedes from the CD do benefit a good cause. The songs are very diverse and let you experience some artists that you may never have heard of.
Free Music Review: ok but Hit: 3 Stars
this band is ok, but for good music check out Jean Luc-Ponty.
