Step Up, I'm Not The Enemy, Waiting and Stranger On Earth are, in my opinion, 5 star tracks. It's all fine stuff and I sure do recommend it. My hope is that Lina will record an album of standards using her great sense of jazz and swing so evident on this CD.Free Music Review: EXCELLENT CD!!!

lina finds inspiration in the music of 1920s-an era that has been pillaged only peripherally by angst-ridden chanteuse fiona apple, in recent memory-but does not hesitate to reach forward in time to take advantage of more recent musical innovations, such as rap, hip-hop, r&b and soul. musically, the 1920s influence makes its presence known in the form of increased use of live instrumentation-especially clarinets, piano and drum-as well as the occasional acquiescence of bass to treble. though echoes has rightly proclaimed "...this record has to be heard to be believed," one might be able to create an abstract impression of lina's style by mentally combined eve, monifah and vanessa willams into one chanteuse and then placing her in a german cabaret circa 1927.Free Music Review: An amazing debut.

This debut album by up and coming talent Lina first made me think of Billie Holiday brought to the 21st century. It's clear that influences on this album include singers like Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughan aswell as Billie Holiday, and Lina's perfect intigration of contemporary R&B/hip-hop with stylish touches of operatic vocal and 20's/30's jazzy swing and sophistication makes this album one of my personal 'chill-out' favourites.Free Music Review: Whoooooooo!

Hey, everyone needs this album and Atlantic is crazy for not distributing it in the states. What are they waiting for, her sound is what I've been waiting for. Original and classy!
