Free Music Notes for The Inner Beauty MovementFree Music Review: Alburm-Versatile (amazing) Hit: 5 StarsI finally received my Lina album last week and i would like to start off by stating that this CD rocked. Lina needs to come out with another album so soon. I cannot believe that the top radio stations are not playing her songs epecially the slower jams r&b stations because her voice is so different and deautiful. Lina is definetly underrated but her voice is so versatile. I played her album at a house function i was having that was racially and sexually orientation mixed and everyone loved the CD. They kept asking "who was that singer"? I know the CD is 3 years old but i have been playing like it came it last Tuesday.
Free Music Review: LOVE IT! Thanks Lina... Hit: 5 StarsI decided to order this CD based on the Amazon recommendations and all of the positive reviews. This was probably one of the best purchases I've made here (along with Conya Doss and Omar LyeFook). Some of the songs are a little "quirky" but I love it...it's ear candy. She's a hard one to put in a "genre"...but I think just about anyone could enjoy her music.
Love her voice (I think it's unique)...LOVE her sound. I think she definitely distinguishes herself from others out there.
Fave tracks:
Smooth
It Could Be
Leaving You
My Fix
Come To Mama****
Hope, Wish & Pray
Thanks to all of the positive reviews! They were really helpful. I'm so happy with my purchase.
Pick this up! It's MORE than worth the price. We've got to support talent like this.

After further listening, I would honestly have to say I enjoy ALL of the tracks on this CD (except for the Bonus track, "On My Own"). SO well worth the $$.
Free Music Review: Come To Mama Hit: 5 Stars
First of all, amazon has the wrong track name for track #11 - it is "Come To Mama" and is one of the best tracks on the album.
Lina's voice is very different, but not so unfamilar that a soul fan wouldn't still glimpse strands of Billie Holliday's rasp, Jill Scott's sometimes-in-your-face lyricism, and even Hil St. Soul's sweetness.
If you like these ladies, you'll enjoy discovering Lina - she's one of the most slept-on soul singers around. I don't call her neo-soul because she is old-school and new-school put together and I think people are getting tired of that term anyhow. Soul is soul.
the best songs are (in order of greatness):
Leaving You
Come To Mama
Hope, Wish & Pray
All Around The World
These are in constant play on my iPod.
Free Music Review: Grown Up Grow Up Musik Hit: 5 StarsWhenever, my mama and my nana, both 70+ ask who I'm listening to, I stick a pin in the moment, Inner Beauty Movement is such a moment. This ain't old folk musik, it's grown up grow up musik. Lina pays homage to where she coming from as well as where she's going. It's a shame she's not struck the thunder that other wonder-less newcomers have. I lucked up on her cd a year and some change late but have been cheering from the make up for it section ever since.
The one song least mentioned in many of the articles I've read about this cd, in my opinion should have been the lead single. "Leaving You", is a groove made for late night rides up the West side with the Palisades decorating the Jersey lights. That haunting horn is reminiscent of Ragtime and Big Band eras gone. Followed by "I Am" a soul-full mantra for anyone who's ever felt like giving up. "Around the World" featuring Anthony Hamilton, "Story Goes" featuring Big Rube, "Run to Me", "Smooth" all make this an almost seamless progressive soul-filled groove.
My only hope is that Lina does not succumb to the critiques and pressures of the market swindlers and peddlers but continues to let the ancestors speak to her and through her.
Free Music Review: Lina Hit: 4 Starsprior to purchasing this cd I had only heard one song entitled "smooth" and simply loved it...however; several other songs on this cd are just as great..would recommend it.
