I heard a single from Lina on 96.3 DC Metro Area, radio personality and Author, Michael Baisden show. Michael said that Lina's music along with other similar artists are going to be featured starting next month I believe on a feature entitled, the "B" sides. The "B" sides will pay tribute to many of the Soul Artists who don't get much airplay or have not received much acclaim for their craft on a national level. Anyway, I heard a single from her album and I was like, WOW,this is tight! The music was smooth and her voice was rich. This album is excellent. This woman is so talented but needs a proper label to push her. Beats are original, no sampled like most R&B today. She keeps her own style with her nice distinctive voice and she sings realistic songs. Definitely worth the money.Free Music Review: Solid cd -- what a modern soul record should be!!!

I wanted to add my voice to the fray -- two enthussiastic thumbs up for my girl Lina. This, her second release, now on the Hidden Beach label demonstrates great maturity and artistic growth. I can truly say that I am very pleased with the effort -- musically Lina and her producers have concocted a bevy of memorable melodies and arrangements, and lilting soulful vocals that take you back. The project is bouyed by clever production touches that aid rather than overshadow. On Inner Beauty, Lina has perfected her sound -- what started as a novely gimmick (30's and 40's sound samples) have now become a real identity. The songs are musical, rich with layers and textures, and plaintive singing. Lina's lyrics have a real sophistocation to them once you get past the self help cliches -- she manages to paint complex situations out of these and I find this to be an interesting achievement. Overall I think each song has merit and this is undoubtedly my album for the Summer of 2005. Free Music Review: Not as unique or creative as I thought it would be.

This album has some very good songs, like "My Fix", "Around The World" (where we find Anthony Hamilton laying down some of his best vocals ever), "Come To Mama" and "Smooth." But quite honestly, a lot of the tracks on here are pretty boring, and not as unique and different as I expected. For example, "Hope, Wish & Pray."
With excellent releases from Hidden Beach records, like Jill Scott's albums, I was expecting more from this CD.
