Free Music Review: All Repeats Bad Versions

This album is either repeats of earlier songs on Eder albums, or copy cat arrangements of Barbra and Liza songs. Although Eder has a voice, she has no style of her own at all. I am amazed that after all of these years, she never seems to create anything of her own. She seems to always be copying everyone else, and then gets angry when interviewers bring it up. If she doesn't want to be known as a "wanna-be" Barbra, then why in the world does she keep trying to copy her? From her web site, to her recordings, to her on stage concerts - she is copying Barbras marketing strategy to a T. Eder needs to find her own style and go after it. Until then, spare us of these remakes ofalready immortalized songs and remakes of old Eder ones. Eder fans deserve NEW STUFF!!!!!

the only reason ive returned to this cd a few times is to see if i feel differently about it. i am one to quickly voice my opinion before ive had time to take something in. a lot of the time this is relevent and sometimes my first impression is the final one. such is the case with 'broadway my way.' the oft times overwrought productions must have cost a pretty penny, but it never really delivers. the promise of something great is there on the surface, but in the end its like playing volleyball with a ball that needs air to send it across the net. for all its pomp this is aflat recording. the song list is uninspired...so-so at best. though linda has the pipes to belt a tune outta the field, on this disc her power is sometimes unrestrained-- unwieldy, giving her pitch problems at least once. she can sound forced and tight, unlike a few real gems on the previous 'it's time,' in which she executes them with containment giving her clear resonance while adding honest& truly 'effective' nuances that are often missing on 'broadway.' i really agree with someone that said she doesnt have her own style. she does sound alot like streisand and even mariah when she does that high pitch bird singing. what makes me want to hear something again and again is that certain something one cant always pinpoint. its like charisma...i dont find it here.maybe she gets bogged down by a desire to 'show off' what she cando vocally which ends up backfiringon her when she needs to 'back off'and create something fresh thatsher own which is focused and dynamic.Free Music Review: Like Streisand... Linda Eder has out done herself with this new Broadway CD. Her passion and talent shine through all the songs, very much like Streisand, Salonga, and Henshall can do. "Don't Rain on my Parade," amongst many others songs, have a strong resemblance to Streisand's renditons, but have differences to make the song unique. This CD is a MUST!!
