Being mostly a heavy metal fan, I was very pleased to have stumbled onto Linda Eder's voice. After seeing Les Mis on Broadway and buying up all the available soundtracks, I went to see Phantom and then Jekyll and Hyde. There I heard the most amazing voice of all time. I'd gone to see Robert Cucciolo's performance, but was blown away by this pretty woman with a voice that gave me chills. Since then, I've been to at least 8 of her shows and long for another. She's signed autographs and taken photographs after her shows and is genuinely in love with her fans. This album is a fine collection of songs demonstrating her vocal abilities. The inclusion of Anthem, from Chess is just incredible. Not a big fan of big band, swing type music that she often performs/records but to hear her sing is phenomenal. AND she's just as good live.....
Oh yeah, she's also beautiful.

Her voiced is strained? There are pitch problems? Her singing is flat? And my favorite - She's off, she needs to learn how to sing properly! Are you people serious? Are all of you tone deaf? Do all of you "one star critics" have "tin ears"? This is crazy. Are you really that scared and jealous? Look, I know you LOVE Barbra, I love her to. But lets face it...Linda has arrived. And, yes, she sings just as good-if not better than Barbra.
Linda Eder has an absolutely phenomenal voice. There isn't a popular female singer around that can touch her...Broadway My Way is proof. The clarity, the power, the control...If you can listen to this woman sing and NOT be moved and amazed you must be dead. Linda is 100% the real deal!
So look at it this way. You didn't loose Barbra - you gained an incredible singer that thankfully will keep this music alive!
Kudos to Linda Eder for stepping up to the plate with an AWESOME voice and an AWESOME album!

I bought this cd on a lark, because I needed something to listen to on a long trip, and I couldn't find what I was looking for. I had no idea who Linda Eder was. Wow! Where have I been? After two listen throughs, I pulled off the highway into another shopping mall and bought another cd. Unbelievable--perfect?--voice.
