Free Music Review: ONE OF THE BEST SINGERS IN THE BUSINESS 5 Stars
It's a shame that most of the 1 and 2 star ratings given below come from Barbra Streisand worshipers and from anonymous "Johns" (or several from the same anonymous "John"). Obviously, they must feel some kind of "threat" to their perception of Barbra Streisand as the "Queen" (of exactly what is not clear). In all probablilty Miss Streisand herself is an admirer of Linda and would consider it flattering to have been paid homage here. Hey!! This album is not about competing with Streisand, it is about Linda Eder's favorite Broadway. Many of these songs, I have seen Linda perform live. Having seen her in concert three times, she never failed to entertain or impress the audience. She even manages standing ovations for "Parade" and "Man Of La Mancha" in the middle of the concert program.I think this is a very good album. Most of the album works. A couple don't ("On the Street Where You Live", "The Impossible Dream"). However, "Parade", Man Of la Mancha", the unique version of "Edelweiss", "Gold", "Some People" are great.
Don't let the 1 star review hacks keep you from enjoying this album. Four stars of Linda in an Eminem/Ashanti world is like GOLD.

Linda Eder has outdone herself once again! Many of her fans, knowing her voice was perfect for many great Broadway tunes, have wanted her to record an album like this for quite awhile. She has not disappointed them. Linda's voice was born to sing these songs. The title of the album, "Broadway, My Way", is exactly how she did it ...her way. What a way it is! Just when you think she can't possibly get any better, she turns around and knocks you off your feet with her version of some of the greatest songs out there. Every single song on this latest album is amazing and beautifully done. USA Today has stated that "I'll Be Seeing You" and "Don't Rain On My Parade" are worth the price of the cd all by themselves. How right they are! Linda's version of "Edleweiss" is probably the most gorgeous version I have ever heard. I could say something great about each song on here, but do yourself a favor and buy this album and listen for yourself. Linda Eder IS the best singer of our time. Linda's voice is finally back where it belongs - in the great repertoire of classic and contemporary music theatre. Fans who may have been dissapointed with her last release, "Gold", will be pleasantly surprised and relieved to her "the voice" back in her own swimming pool.Linda performs songs mostly done by men, but what is most wonderful is that it WORKS!! Her takes of "I Am What I Am" from La Cage Aux Folles, and "Some People" are true theatrical bang, and she belts to her full potential, giving these songs new life for today's modern audiences. Speaking of 'new life', Linda's new recording of "A New Life" from Jekyll & Hyde is simply outstanding, and better than ever. And Barbra - move over, sweety - you may be like "buttah", but Linda's "Don't Rain on My Parade" may possibly drown you out!
Every moment of listening to this great album reminds us why we go to the theatre - to be thrilled, dazzled, and moved emotionally all at the same time. Linda does this, and so much more. Keep singing, Linda. We're all listening!

This is my second Linda Eder album, and it ranks the best. What drew me to this album in particular is the fact that I love broadway. I knew Linda has/had an extraordinary talent(my first album was "Storybook") and she sings with the voice of an angel. I have never heard anyone sing broadway like Linda can. She sings each song with intense passion, emotion, and feeling. "I Am What I Am" is enough reason to buy this album. My favorite songs are "I Am What I Am", "Anthem", "Some People", "Don't Rain On My Parade", and "Man Of La Mancha." Take it from me, buy this album. Broadway lovers, you won't be dissipointed. After listening to her mesmerizing voice, you'll be left wondering, "Why is it that this woman has the most beautiful voice in the world, and she wasn't in most of these musicals?" Don't believe me? If ever a CD deserved a standing ovation, this one does! From start to end, Linda Eder has capture the magic of her concerts in her new CD, "Broadway My Way". This is the CD that the fans have clamored for. These are the type of songs that Linda does best, the Broadway show-stopper! The CD opens with "I Am What I Am" from La Cage Aux Folles, and from the first note you know you are in for a treat! "Anthem" from Chess follows next. This song is my favorite of the new ones. In fact it is my favorite song of all time (next to Linda's "Vienna") and now that Linda has recorded it, all is good in the world. And the message of the song is so important in this crazy world of ours! And each song on this CD is a tribute to the show that it's from. Linda does them all justice and some of them are presented in a whole new light. Wait until you hear "Edelweiss" from The Sound Of Music, it will blow you away! And with another Linda CD announced for later this year, 2003 will be the year that the world embraces Linda Eder, finally!
