Free Music Review: She's done it again...
Hit: 5 Stars

I love Linda Eder's "It's Time" and "It's No Sectet Anymore" Cds, but was unsure of how she would do on a Christmas album. Upon first listen, all doubt was removed from my mind, and I'm now sure that she can tackle anything. She delivers this CD with the same energy and unique style that makes her other albums so great.

One highlight of the album is "Here Comes Santa Claus/Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town." It's a big band number so cleverly arranged that it could make anyone get into the Christmas spirit. Another highlight is "The Bells of "St. Paul," which isn't very a Christmas-like song, but more of a love ballad. None the less, it still comes out on top. Ms. Eder soars on "Silent Night," showing off her beautiful vocal range while joined by the Broadway Gospel Choir. Other tracks worth mentioning are "The Little Drummer Boy," "O Come O Come Emmanuel/What Child Is This?" "The Christmas Song," "Christmas Stays the Same," and "Ave Maria."

Even if you're not a big fan of Christmas music, you'll enjoy this CD. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift for anyone.

Free Music Review: Linda's beautiful Christmas Album.
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been a fan of hers since I first heard "Something To Believe In " and have went back to buy her first few cds. This is one of the best Christmas albums that I've heard in a long time. I actually bought this last year and brought it out this year for another go round. It just got better. The cd features 3 original songs "Christmas Stays The Same","Christmas Through A Child's Eyes" and the Vienna like "The Bells Of St. Paul". The medleys of "Here Comes Santa Claus/Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" which shows off her jazzier/uptempo side while her Christmas Medley of "I'll Be Home For Christmas/Let It Snow/Silver & Gold" showcases her ability to make old songs her own. But the best songs are the classic Christmas songs like "The Christmas Song", "Ave Maria","Silent Night" ,"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "The Little Drummer Boy". The 2 best tracks are the emotional almost black gospel versions of "O Holy Night" and "Do You Hear What I Hear" that are tremendous. An excellent Christmas album to listen to for years to come.

Free Music Review: A Truly Beautiful 'Christmas'
Hit: 5 Stars

If you buy no other seasonal album this Christmas, at least use the good sense to make sure that it's this one. This is one of the finest Christmas albums I've heard--ever. Comparisons to Streisand not withstanding, Linda Eder possesses, in my opinion, the most technically perfect vocal instrument that I think I've heard in my relatively short lifetime. This is also one of the few albums that contains new material(the title track,'The Bells of St. Paul)that is not only good, but great. It's hard to pick a standout among an album so flawlessly executed in every sense of the word, but my personal favorite is her rendition of 'Do You Hear What I Hear?', which employs a beautiful tribal-like arrangement among a gospel choir, as well as a beautiful reading of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', the track that recalls Streisand, in regards to vocal phrasing, the most. This is one woman who could truly sing the phone book and make it sound inspired. If this doesn't open her up to a justifiably deserved broader audience, there is literally no justice to be had in the world.

Free Music Review: THE BEST OF THE BEST ....FIVE STARS
Hit: 5 Stars

Linda Eder is an incredible talent. Her voice is often compared to Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and Judy Garland, but in my opinion she surpasses them all. Her great voice and the warmth of her personality is perfectly suited for a Christmas album and she proves this commandingly with "Christmas Stays the Same".

Eder's voice soars like an angel from above in her stirring rendition of "Silent Night". Noone can approximate the sheer beauty, inspiration and power she brings to "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night." Fun, swing versions of "Here comes Santa Claus" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit.

Every arrangement here is creative and original, and even in the more tradional offerings, Linda makes each sound like you're just hearing it for the first time. Her renditions of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Christmas Song" will bring tears to your eyes. I will cherish this CD for years to come.

Free Music Review: Holiday Angel
Hit: 5 Stars

No voice can quite match the beautiful power of Linda Eder's voice. She is a powerhouse of singing, and her two pop albums only prove that her range and style is leagues above her nearest competitors. Her Christmas album, while apparently hampered a bit by a few selections, is a welcome addition to the glut of Christmas albums one can choose this time of year.

This albums contains many classics, from Silent Night to Little Drummer Boy, and performed as only Linda could do. She sweetly serandes us with one of my favorites, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". My favorite song on the CD and quite possibly the song that really takes advantage of her true vocal power is the Lion King sounding like "Do You Hear What I Hear".

Some of the songs do not seem to lend themselves well to her talent, and she does she restrained a bit with them. However, in the long run, this CD will be in my player every Christmas for years to come. Thanks for this Christmas gift Linda!
