Free Music Notes for GoldFree Music Review: Best of Her Catalog Hit: 4 StarsIN "GOLD" Linda Eder Almost finds herself. This is my favorite eder Cd and the one where I feel like I am really hearing EDER. Most of the time she sounds like she had Streisand singing in her ear and she is doing her best Barbra. Mind you, there are MANY worse things than being a Stresiand sound alike...but on this cd eder sounds like Eder and not like everyone else. I had hoped to have more music like she prestened on "GOLD".
Free Music Review: FANTASTIC!!! Hit: 5 StarsLinda Eder proves why she is a risen star and that she is still rising!
Free Music Review: Linda Gets Gold! Hit: 5 StarsWho would think that a Broadway diva could turn her attentions to a "pop" style. Her performances of "If I Had My Way" and "If I Lose My Way," in addition to "Gold" demonstrate her emotional and vocal ranges. I had the extreme pleasure of hearing her perform two of these pieces during a concert with the National Symphony Orchestra in Wasington and could not wait for the album to be released. This is definite solid gold.
Free Music Review: It's to country, with to many slow song's,barely worth a 4!!! Hit: 4 StarsTruthfully I liked the (Here comes the sun) cover song, but not really the other two song's, like the (Son of a preacher man),Well because I'm a guy, and alway's thought that song was stupid, and not worth singing even at a Kareoke bar,and the drift away song is to motown for me,and wasn't worthy of Linda's great vocals.I tell you what if it wasn't Linda Eder a singer I really enjoy listening to, who has tremendis talent not to mention top notch song writer's at her beck in call, I might of gave this album a 3star rating. And if she starts singing cheesy song's like Faith Hill or Martina Mcbride.I might be forced to deliver a negative zero Star on the album rating.I no that sound's harsh, but their song writer's probably coudn't write themselves out of a card board box.Although that wasn't the case with this album which has a experimental feel that tell's me she might be doubting her old stile, hense maybe even her old fan's.Well please don't sell out, and give up on us.Cause we're out there.Holding our copie's of the It's Time Album going quit trying to apease though's people who don't understand you'r high energy well written song's along with you'r equally excellent ballad's.It's not even worth trying to write country music. You'll betray you'r fan's, and anyone who know's a well written song when they here it.As a matter of fact I listened to the song Across the water and thought,it sound's country,Hmmm, but it can't be this song's way to well written, much like the song Until I don't love you anymore, and about over half the album. And yes ofcoarse the complete lack of orchestration, and the country western sound always annoy's me.So if you like country,it's time to enjoy the voice of a Siren, and the best written music a country fan probably will ever here. And if you're not a country music fan like me just listen for the sake of good song writing, and vocals,And hopefully it's just a fase, and a short libed change of pace...
Free Music Review: lots of hits... a few misses Hit: 4 StarsThis isn't my favorite Linda Eder CD, but it's close. The best songs on the CD are the remake of "Son of a Preacher Man," "Gold," and "If I Had My Way."
