Free Music Notes for It's No Secret AnymoreFree Music Review: Very fine...this lady has it... Hit: 5 Stars
I was introduced to Linda Eder by the two "My Favorite Broadway" DVDs, "The Leading Ladies," and "The Love Songs." (Both highly recommended.)"It's No Secret Anymore" is the first Lind Eder CD I've had heard or owned. I'm sold. Linda has a great voice, and judging from her contribution to the marvelous and informative CD package printed supplement, she has a deep and abiding commitment to her talent, the composers and lyrists who've created the music she is honored to perform, and the musicians that accompany her. I look forward to collecting her other albums and videos. It is my understanding that PBS makes available a Linda Eder video concert on VHS.
Free Music Review: Captivating... Hit: 5 Stars
This past weekend I was able to snag last-minute tickets to an intimate show Linda put on here in Boston... Holy Moly! I'd not heard all that much about her, except the raves and comparisons. After seeing her live I RAN out to buy her CD's and had them on the rest of the weekend. AMAZING! Her voice is full of strength, clarity, emotion... and a whole bunch of other positive adjectives. Bottom line... spellbinding. The album is fantastic... "Vienna" moves you emotionally, and some other tracks force you to move your body. Not ridden with cliche, the lyrics draw you in, and her voice, well... just fills the story out wonderfully. Truly a voice I cannot wait to hear more of.
Free Music Review: Another treasure from this impeccable talent Hit: 5 Stars
So many others have reviewed this album very positively, so I won't repeat all the wonders of this latest combination of Linda's and Frank's work and talent. To those who feel these songs are similar to others they have done in the past, you need to pay more attention to the sounds, era, and feel of this music-- this album is as uniquely inspiring as all the others. And as for the comparisons, it's so nice to hear a voice that can embrace so many styles and still sound so incredible. Celine Dion sounding so romantic? I don't think so! Barbra Streisand holding her notes as steadily? Hardly! And please don't ever dare to mention Ms. Carey's name in this league, ok??
Free Music Review: GREAT VOICE! GREAT MUSIC! CAN'T BEAT IT! Hit: 5 Stars
WELL, LINDA EDER AND FRANK WILDHORN HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. WILDHORN MANAGES TO COME UP AGAIN AND AGAIN WITH GREAT MUSIC AND DEMONSTRATES THAT HE IS ONE OF THE TOP COMPOSERS IN THE WORLD. LINDA SINGS ALL OF THE SONGS BEAUTIFULLY WITH THAT REMARKABLE VOICE OF HERS. THE CD INTRODUCES US TO SOME WONDERFUL NEW SONGS THAT ARE IN WILDHORN'S NEW BROADWAY MUSICAL, "HAVANA", WHICH OPENS IN 2000 AND STARS LINDA. THE ALBUM ALSO INCLUDES A REPRISE FROM AN EARLIER CD OF THE SONG " VIENNA". IN MY OPINION THIS IS THE BEST SONG WILDHORN HAS WRITTEN, EVEN IF YOU INCLUDE SONGS FROM "JEKYLL AND HYDE" AND " SCARLET PIMPERNEL'. BUY THIS CD AND ENJOY!
Free Music Review: The best voice in the world. Hit: 5 Stars
If you have not heard Linda Eder sing than you are missing one of the most incredible voices ever. Her voice is so powerful and spine tingling she makes Barbara Streisand sound like Paula Abdul(well that is a little drastic but you get the point. The highlights on the CD are the latin flavored songs from the upcoming Broadway show Havana, especially Never Dance. It's a lot like The Cup of Life by Ricky Martin. Linda even calls it her Ricky Martin song. It's amazing. If there is only one reason to own this CD it is because of the gorgeous, powerful ballad Vienna. There has never been a song so beautiful, and to be sung by Linda is a gift from God.
