I first thought of 4 Non-Blondes as the next one-hit wonders and had no interest. My wife asked for the CD for Christmas, so I got it. She never listened to it, but one day I did, all the way through, and was absolutely thunderstruck by the voice of Linda Perry.I hate when people compare artists, but I haven't heard a voice like hers since a young Robert Plant. I'd like to think Linda would take that as a compliment, because I'm talking about an excellent mixture of power, control, emotion, and knowing when to shut up. :-)
I bought In Flight as soon as I was aware of it and, while *very* different from 4NB, I was nonetheless very impressed. This is a great album. Like, say, Astral Weeks, it takes some time to get into only because there's so much there. Linda is one of the rare people in the music business that demands 100% control over her product and produces her art, not what might sell. I say, you GO girl! Excellent!! I completely dig it.

As a physician, I can wholeheartedly precscribe In Flight. Ever since 4 Non Blondes, I've anxiously awaited another set of tracks from Perry - she did not disappoint. Her range and expression are spectacular. Now, if we can just get something sooner than every 6 years ...Free Music Review: Simply amazing....

Words fail me when I try to describe this album by Linda Perry. This solo debut from the leader of the 4 Non Blondes is a masterpeice in songwriting. Everytime I pop this Cd into my player I get swept off my feet and taken into this world of dreams and fantasies that I never want to end, but do as soon as the title track is over. The album is so beautiful, expect yourself to shed more than a few tears before all 14 tracks are over. One of the best albums to come from a female artist in a very, very long time. Heck, one of the best albums to come out in a very very long time.Free Music Review: Amazing

I bought this cd one week after its release after listening to a couple of songs in a cd store playing station. This is one of the most heartfelt cd's that I have ever heard. Linda Perry just throws emotion at you. I'm not exaggerating here at all--when I play this cd, I honestly sometimes have to stop what I'm doing, sit down, and soak it in. It is so breathtaking.If you love a great, strong voice and beautiful, etheral songs do yourself a treat and buy this cd. When you listen to songs like Uninvited, you will know that this was a sound purchase. Linda Perry, fortunately for the listener, did not water this cd down with "radio friendly" tracks. Instead she delivers one great, powerhouse of a cd. Excellent! I'd love to see her in concert. (If you're reading Linda, come to Oklahoma!)
