Free Music Notes for In FlightFree Music Review: The voice from the depths of sensitivity and promise Hit: 5 StarsLike a distant thunder her throat moves in the air of where you are... not a detatched voice, but a real part of your own inner ear. You get the feeling of unfathomable potential and longing : a clarity so original it has a place within the realms of music all its own. Words of Kings and poets should somehow find their way into this rich veign, for if they could, only the most profound would be worthy of this wondrous voice.
Free Music Review: MUSIC I LOVE! Hit: 5 Starsone day, believe it or not, the same day In Flight came out i called the ex distro company and asked if something new would come out.the woman refered me to mca.i called...In flight came out that very same day.long story short. in flight blew my mind...on every level.success is such a beautiful song!it's an awesome record!not even explainable in words. i'm really looking forward to the new cd.saw two shows and the songs are GREAT! musician extraordinar that's what she is!!!! more power to you Linda! thanx!
Free Music Review: Linda's mood & voice stay with me long after the CD's over Hit: 5 StarsI was an enthusasitc fan of 4 Non Blonds, but only because of Linda Perry. It's a shame the industry hasn't choasen to expose this voice and talent to the mainstream. Although, it's kind of fun being part of the Linda Perry underground, I'd love her to have more exposure. Her lyrics are as haunting as her voice. Unlike the annoying "catchy" melodies you hear all day on the radio, Perry's melodies roll through your brain like a soothing tide, long after the CD is over. "Some Weird Sin" has gut wrenching feeling, similar to "What's up", this time questioning success and needs, and the desire to be free. "Fill Me Up" is a great song, lyrically, discussing the day-after a long party. I've had plenty of those discussions with friends. Thanks again, Linda, for spilling your guts and sharing your heart with us. It's nice to hear a singer that doesn't manufacture pain and emotion in their music for a buck.
Free Music Review: If you can get loose from the bonds of mainstream music.... Hit: 4 StarsThis compilation is the evolution of the human spirit put to tomorrow's soundtrack. Linda wraps a message in a sound that is new to any listener. If you don't know her, look into it, for Linda Perry has substance. We aint perfect, and there's salvation in that admission.
Free Music Review: Deep, moving, unreal, spellbinding, amazing. Hit: 5 StarsLinda Perry's "In Flight" album blew me away. To be honest, I didn't care much for the 4-Non Blondes other than the one song "What's Up." It was my birthday and I had a $100 gift certificate at Virgin, and "In Flight" was at a listening station. I listened to the first three songs and knew instantly this was going to be an excellent album. And man, it is. Songs like "Success," "Uninvited," and "Fill Me Up" stop time. I had the good fortune of seeing Linda last January in Concord, CA, for an acoustic show and she was incredible. She was in top form... awe inspiring, gracious (she even let an audience member sing "What's Up")and funny. She played some songs she plan(s? nned?) on putting on her next album and they were also incredible. If you don't have this album... buy it.
