Free Music Review: The Best Baby CD Out There! Hit: 5 StarsI put this cd on my wishlist and recieved it as a Christmas gift when my first son was 6 months old. It is by FAR the best cd for babies out there and I've heard a LOT. We made it part of our bedtime ritual to dance to one of the songs every night before bed and it worked like a charm every time. We lost the cd when we took it with us on vacation and now I'm replacing it because I've missed it so much and don't want my second son to miss out on this wonderful collection! I can't reccommend it highly enough. My whole family is in love with it!
Free Music Review: Great for during your pregnancy, too! Hit: 5 StarsGreat for pregnancy and baby - I played this lullaby music all of the time while I was pregnant with my daughter Casey and now she loves it! I like to listen to it, too! Linda has a beautiful voice and I love the way she turns even regular songs like "We Will Rock You" into lullabies. The soothing words of "Dedicated to the One I Love..." help reinforce feelings of bonding towards your baby, even before he or she is born. The beat of the music seems to be at the same speed of a person's breathing as he or she is drifting off to sleep, and there is often a heartbeat-like percussive sound throughout. I highly recommend this CD for every baby and mother!
Free Music Review: It's Just Like Heaven Hit: 5 StarsA gift for a soon-to-be grandmother, this dreamy CD has me in total awe! Linda Ronstadt delivers pop classics in a breathy, beautiful, simply sweet voice with harps and heartbeats and strings and clear pure magic. This CD moves rock and roll melodies to lullabies in a simply breathtaking collection - and Queen's contribution just adds to the whimsy. This CD will become my shower gift of choice. Thank you my dear friend, for the fresh, beautifully rendered celebration of the blessing of a baby!
Free Music Review: Perfect for parents and babies Hit: 5 StarsThis is a beautiful transformation of rock standards into lullabies, perfect for frazzled parents and insomniac babies. Those who complain about "We Will Rock You" seem to be stuck in the mode of thinking there's only one proper way to interpret a song (and by the way, the lyric is "you've got mud on your face," not "blood," and if you have toddlers, they've probably got all kinds of stuff on their face). Personally, I think Linda Ronstadt's version of this tune is an excellent example of how a different context can change a song's meaning and interpretation. "Winter Light" is gorgeous, and a song that gave my mother deep peace and relaxation in the last few months of her life. So it means a lot for me for my little son to hear that song now. Whoever said this CD is "terrible" may not have had the right audience in mind--it's not something you groove to at parties, but it has its time and place.
