Most of Linda Ronstadt's music leans too much towards the easy listening side for my tastes, but this album rocks much harder than most of her stuff, while occasionally providing soft vocal brilliance on tracks like Blowing Away or Love Me Tender. This is an incredibly diverse album-from the beginnings of Rock(Chuck Berry), to the most contemporary artists like Elvis Costello, and you know,that other Elvis guy :)She had a back-up band that was the best the late seventies had to offer-they were simply incredible musicians. It starts with a great Chuck Berry classic that leaves you wondering which version you like better. Songs like Mohammeds Radio and All That You Dream are remarkable choices to redo, and she takes them to new levels. OOh Baby Baby was the biggest hit on here, and it deserved to be, but Allison should have gotten radio play too.The mystery is why do you never see this album at record stores? Maybe the rock fans dont remember it, and her fans think it has too much rock and roll. Did everybody forget it is a necessity? I went through 2 vinyls and the Picture disc, before finally getting the cd.
