Free Music Notes for Prisoner in Disguise

Free Music Review: Still the best female singer that ever was
Hit: 5 Stars

Her version of "I Will Always Love You" is miles ahead
of Whitney Houston's, which is over-sung, shrill, and grating by comparison.

There's been a recent blast of "hub bub" about Annie Lennox doing a version of "Many Rivers To Cross". Again, she's no match for Ronstadt's version on this album.

Cap it off with a couple of great radio-ready hits, and some excellent ballads and superb female/male delicate duets like "Prisoner In Disguise" and you'll be hard pressed to find a better country rock album anywhere.

Free Music Review: More covers - great album
Hit: 4 Stars

Ronstadt always picks great cover songs to sprinkle in along with originals and this album does not disappoint.

Free Music Review: The sweetest gift
Hit: 4 Stars

I bought this CD for the duet with Emmie Lou Harris of The Sweetest Gift and they do a very good job.

Free Music Review: Great, Varied CD
Hit: 4 Stars

I've always enjoyed Linda's music (I grew up listening to it), but this is my first studio CD purchase of hers. I really enjoy it alot; lots of different styles. "You Tell me that I'm Falling Down" is wonderful, and I think this is the only place to get it.

As for the sound, even though the packaging reads AAD, the disc itself has the HDCD seal; the sound is loud and full with no hiss. Sometimes I think they don't redo the packaging to save money, which can be confusing to those waiting for the remastered version. I've discovered on older titles it's best to buy new, so you are guaranteed the most up to date pressing.

Well, enjoy. I'm glad that Linda is still recording and stepping into new genres.

Free Music Review: Prisoner in Disguise
Hit: 5 Stars

This was the first Linda Ronstadt album I ever heard back in late 1970. I had never quite heard anything so pure and wondrous as this voice and to this day wonder if I will ever hear any one sing like her again. Perhaps Trisha Yearwood is a close second these days.
This album contains such classic tracks as Love is a Rose, Prisoner in Disguise and Silverblue. The arrangements are fabulous. There are many different styles tackled but the album has a wonderful flow.
It is so exciting to be able to have this album on CD as my old vinyl was well and truly worn out. Even today this album stands up - my 18 year old son commented 'wow who's that singing!'. He was hearing the voice of an angel that can still move people 30 years on! Thankyou Amazon for bringing this CD to my attention.
